Paul McCartney and Wings released their second studio album, "
Red Rose Speedway". Originally intended to be a double-album,it was pared down to a single LP for release, and included compositions from the previous "Ram" recording session ("Get on the Right Thing" and "Little Lamb Dragonfly"). The single "My Love" preceded the album's release charting at #9 in the UK and #1 in the US. The album itself peaked at #5 in the UK and #1 in the US. The single "Live and Let Die" was also recorded during the Red Rose Speedway sessions, but would not be released until July that year on the movie soundtrack.
