A few months later following in the beginning of the day, they heard a crash. The guards showed Sparkwave a rock with a message that said, “Come and face me you roaches. I wish to see your deaths piled up as you enmass your pathetic armies on me. I am at the dead chateau. Send whomever you wish, I am ready for anything! Oh, and you have one hour to come, or death will come swiftly to Zora!”
When Sparkwave read that, he had Zir summoned and said, “I have a mission for you and when it is complete, don’t kill him till we have questioned him!”
Zir then was told about his wife being kidnapped and when Sparkwave finished he said, “My king, I have little time to lose, I WILL GO NOW!”
Sparkwave nodded saying, “Yes… But.”
Zir however enraged jumped into the air and flew off towards the location not far away.
General L sighed, “Worry not, he will be back intact.”
Sparkwave seemed exasperated replying, “I hope he knows that place is cursed and that we know Zanmal is there, and moreover, special abilities don’t work there, brute force only prevails...”
General Z entered bowing low saying, “I will continue the training for those two youths. I will make sure they learn.”
Sparkwave surprised asked, “Really, I thought you said you couldn’t teach anyone.”
General Z gave a chuckle saying, “I said my resistance to pain couldn’t be taught. But I will show them how to bring their power out more effectively...”
Sparkwave replied, “very well, proceed but I hope I don’t regret this...”
This Sparkwave said because he had an uneasy feeling about General Z.
General Z looked for them and upon finding them said, “Hello.”
Lily and Sunbeam looked at General Z who was at least five foot tall and his face was covered with a mask. As General Z took off his mask, Lily instantly thought, “what a handsome man.” She in fact blushed but remembered Sunbeam and felt bad. Sunbeam took her hand seeming to notice saying, “Don’t sin against me, but also don’t let guilt drag you down either.”
Lily still felt bad but her focus was changed as Sunbeam asked the man, “Are you here for some reason?”
General Z laughed, “I am known as General Z. I will show you how to learn even more control over your abilties.”
Sunbeam puzzled asked, “Huh?”
General Z replied, “I can copy any ability that I see and once seen, I remember how to use it. Few have this ability. But I am one of those Mana energy users. I will explain that later though!”
Sunbeam asked, “I need to learn better control… I tried the method Vamura taught me but... General Z?
General Z said, “You cannot till the time is right, but to truly use it requires great anger and the desire for justice to release it. You can summon it eventually at will, but you must be careful when you use it, or someone could die. You were in Zament’s cave right? Excellent job surviving there. But you need to train harder to use it outside of there!”
Sunbeam asked, “What do you mean? And, how do so many people know more about my ability when I only know a little bit about it...”
General Z chuckled saying, “Some powers and abilities reappear in history. The intensity though may increase each time they reappear.”
They were led down to a mysterious staircase, where a creature called Zigzam was waiting.
Zigzam started to snarl but General Z replied, “relax you will get your chance.”
Lily flinched at this and said, “Is he our opponent?”
General Z sighed, “you both need to trust me no matter what, if you don’t… you will become afraid and never learn how to control your powers.”
Zigzam backed off and ran outside and they found what appeared to be, an empty lit cave.
Zigzam stood at the opposite side of the room and General Z said, “Forgive me, but this is a battle you must not run from.”
They both had barely entered before they were sealed in.
Sunbeam and Lily both became terrified and angry General. Z however replied, “Good, use that anger to destroy him. Many have tried to kill him, but few have succeeded and he is a stubborn vagabond for he returns to life a few times a year...”
Zigzam charged at them like a behemoth on his hindquarters.
Lily punched with all her might pouring her strength into her ability, a vine shot out at Zigzam like a sharp sword slashing through its throat seeming to kill it.
Zigzam however began to reform itself within seconds as if they were in a nightmare.
Zigzam charged again and the same thing happened.
General Z shouted, “You may wish to kill him more effectively, he comes back stronger each time!”
Sunbeam shouted back, “LET US OUT!”
General Z sighed, “You need this trust me and you don’t have time to waste arguing with me.”
Zigzam suddenly grabbed Lily with one of his hands starting to squeeze her life to death. Sunbeam was filled with anger, he became surrounded by a cloak of fire. Sunbeam not completely understanding this power thought about sending it to kill Zigzam. Then he watched in alarm as it did just that, but, he just realized he could kill Lily if he wasn’t careful.
Sunbeam forced the fire to free Lily from the creatures grip first. Lily slowly began to breathe again and sighed before narrowly passing out. Her eyes were cloudy and she was barely awake. Sunbeam quivered with rage and punched as hard as he could in the direction of the creature and it slowly began to burn up.
Zigzam however slashed his own arm off where the fire was burning his body and then began to regenerate that same arm as the old one burned up.
Zigzam tensed his body up and sent what appeared to be many thousands of spines into the air. Then with a motion of his hand sent them at Lily.
Sunbeam moved like lightning blocking the majority of them. He tried to use his ability but found he couldn’t for some reason.
General Z thought to himself, “He cannot control it yet… this doesn’t bode well.”
Sunbeam suddenly screamed with all his might as he was struck with many thousands of tiny spines which embedded themselves in him. Zigzam sneered saying, “My spines are toxic you know… Good luck surviving this!” Zigzam laughed maliciously amused by his own handywork.
Sunbeam suddenly fell to the ground coughing up blood in the process.
Lily got up slowly staggering as she prepared to run towards Zigzam. Zigzam laughed, “so you healed the wounds I dealt eh... well big deal! You won’t last LONG!”
Zigzam rushed towards Lily and as she got closer she unleashed what appeared to be a blaze of sunlight which surprised even her.
Zigzam cursed and spat as he felt himself being pushed back and slamming into the wall going through two layers of solid rock. Lily immediately with her other hand stood in Sunbeam’s way and with the other hand tried to take the poison out. Zigzam suddenly began to block her beam with a beam of his own.
Lily looked in horror as a dark energy beam was overpowering her. She pushed Sunbeam out of the line of fire just as she got slammed into the wall behind her going through three layers of solid rock. She was losing lots of blood all over her body and thought, “This is the end.”
Zigzam stopped the power flow much to her surprise and said, “I am going to enjoy this...”
Zigzam slowly walked towards Lily and Sunbeam screamed, “Get away from HER!”
Zigzam ignored him and continued walking towards her and pulled a spike out of his back and was preparing to dig it into Lily’s flesh when Sunbeam suddenly fists clenched appeared to have gotten up.
Zigzam turned in shock for he felt the energy levels Sunbeam had were increasing.
He thought, “The venom should have killed him!”
Sunbeam fighting back the pain of venom ran towards Zigzam punching him in his stomach knocking him down. Zigzam kicked at Sunbeam who grabbed Zigzam and swung him around and around until he threw him at the other wall.
Then Sunbeam opened his mouth so angry that he wasn’t completely conscious of what he was doing not noticing his entire body was surrounded by a nova of fire, and one thousand degrees of fire errupted from his mouth and began to burn Zigzam to death. Zigzam wailed and screamed, “What is this person! Who the HELL are YOU!”
Sunbeam then charged one last time and punched a hole in Zigzam’s chest slamming his fist into his heart and he instantly distintegrated before his own eyes as well as Z’s eyes.
General Z entered the room and began to administer the venom cure to Sunbeam and said, “Well so this, is the strength of Sunbeam. Interesting I never would have guessed.
Lily slowly regained herself enough to say, “That’s enough, heal him now or I WILL kill you for putting US in DANGER!”
General Z laughed, “You certainly have a strong spirit. Very well.”
Sunbeam saw General Z and began to throw fire at him too. Z however calmly walked towards him negating his strength with one hand much to Lily’s surprise.
Sunbeam’s normally orange eyes had blue pupils within it as anger had taken over his consciousness. General Z upon reaching Sunbeam put his finger to his head saying, “Relax you are safe now.”
Sunbeam suddenly passed out and Lily ran to him ignoring the pain of her body and what it went through and began to complete the detoxicification process in Sunbeam’s body with her own unique antivenom. General Z watched and thought, “Hm… it appears any poison she is hit with that she recovers from, develops an antidote to. But more miraculous she can use it to heal others with… interesting I wonder who she is.”
Lily cried on Sunbeam shoulders for she didn’t feel a heartbeat and called out, “COME BACK Sunbeam! I need you! Please don’t die!”
Lily upon calling to Sunbeam felt his heart which seemed to stop completely begin to slowly beat again.
Sunbeam looked up seeing he was in a dream and saw Lily crying over his body and he thought, “Where am I?”
A kind voice replied, “Return to her, she needs you.”
Ten minutes later, Sunbeam’s heart began to beat normally and Lily noticed as Sunbeam’s eyes opened. Lily and Sunbeam looked at each other and they embraced in a close hug. Sunbeam asked, “Where is General Z? I want to talk to him about this training...”
Lily looked behind herself and saw he had vanished. “I will get him for THIS!” Lily cried out angrily...”
Sunbeam however replied, “Calm down, we are in rough shape, we don’t want to cough up blood again.”
“Well Sunbeam, Lily… it appears my training revealed the truth to you yes?”
General Z walked down with two medical knights by his side.
Lily was about to scream but General Z said, “Be silent.”
Lily and Sunbeam suddenly found their mouths couldn’t move and they glared at him.
General Z said, “I know your angry, but this was truly the only way. Someday you will realize this and thank me even knowing what will happen in the future. However, remember the feeling you had when Zigzam tried to fatally wound each of you. That is how you will tap into your powers and overcome your enemies with your special abilities.”
Lily and Sunbeam watched as General Z vanished into thin air and they each looked at each other then at the same time said, “Let’s tell the King about this.”
They needn’t had bothered however when they were brought to the hospital, Sparkwave replied, “Your training methods General Z… Are completely, UNETHICAL! This is your last WARNING! Do not ever, ever do this again! Do you realize you have jeopardized their lives and put the kingdom’s accountability at risk? Never again will you train anyone!”
General Z sighed, “Trust me, you will thank me later.”
Sparkwave laughed scornfully saying, “I certainly hope so, within the year it better have some good positive effect or I will zap you to death for this.”
General Z smiled, “I am certain you will not have to. But I need no reward either, teaching them their gifts is its own reward.”
Sparkwave shook his head saying, “You are a headcase, you know that right? but at least you were honest about what you did, otherwise I would’ve killed you right here. You are dismissed...”
Sparkwave watched as General Z smiled creepily and slowly walked out of the building.
Sparkwave went to visit Sunbeam and Lily and asked, “Are you both alright?”
Lily replied, “I am okay, but Sunbeam is barely alive, the poison is still eating away at him.” Sparkwave saw General Z enter the room and said, “You better hope he doesn’t die… Or else your punishment will be severe!”
General Z wasn’t unnerved but said, “Allow me...”
He walked towards Sunbeam passing Lily before she could stop him and injected something into his blood. Sunbeam screamed and Lily stabbed General Z with her plant like abilities but Z replied, “Relax that should heal him of the poison completely.”
Sparkwave asked, “HOW though... our doctors reported it was an unknown pathogen!”
General Z laughed, “I have killed Zigzam many a time, you think I wouldn’t have an antidote to that? Although he has also poisoned me a few times. When I killed him once, I went without an antidote for a year after being captured by some evil darkians.”
General L whispered, “Your majesty, I believe what you heard is most likely a tall-tale. But there is something odd about him, he has been talking more frequently lately. I wonder what he is up to...”
Sparkwave nodded, “It is out of character, I wonder if he has been taken over.”
General L replied, “OR, he was playing us for fools.”
General Z laughed, “I hear every word your saying, and no, I am neither taking you for fools or being mind controlled. No need to worry, I am trying to help us all, my king.”
Sparkwave and General L were stunned but whispered to each other, “Keep watch.”
General Z didn’t say this, but he could break their boundaries and hear what they are saying. And sometimes he can connect with what they are thinking and experimenting speaking mind to mind.
A few weeks later, General L said, “Kiota… he hasn’t given us our taxes yet for this month.”
Sparkwave replied, “Well that’s okay I feel certain for some reason I should visit him anyways. So visit we shall.”
Sparkwave went into the town with his soldiers to receive their percentage of taxes and saw a man in chains and saw the mayor standing guard over him. Kiota saw his king walk forward and bowed saying, “If it pleases you, I wish to know what you are here for.”
Sparkwavewaved his hand saying, “Nevermind that, why is this man in chains.”
Kiota spoke saying, “He robbed someone today for what appears to be the tenth time today.
Sparkwave sighed, “Okay bring him to my court, but please, don’t chain anything but their feet together and arms together. It is cruel to chain someone to the wall like that with them upside down. I should have you executed for that, but I will overlook it, if your reasons for having arrested are deemed valid.
Kiota signalled his guards saying, “Very well oh King!”
Sparkwave replied, “bring him in a few hours if you wish to have him punished, or you will take his place.”
Sparkwave and his soldiers walked away but General L who was nearby replied, “Why are you letting Kiota live?”
Sparkwave whispered, “He is popular here, I would prefer to settle this issue elsewhere and avoid a full rebellion if possible.”
Two hours later Kiota and his followers entered the court along with Shockwave who was the thief. The room was deafening with the sound of shuffling as one thousand of the towns most elite members moved into their seats. When silence descended, General L said, “The court is in order! Stand forth!”
Mayor Kiota moved forward looking short and burly and pompous. He walked with a tall, strong young man bound in chains. His fur, as bright as lightning made him stand out from the others. Sparkwavesaid, “Who is this?
The crowd roared and said, “SCUM!”
General L looked exasperated and raised his hand irritatedly. The crowd became silent and Sparkwaveasked, “What is your name young man?”
Then finally the man spoke up and said, “My name is Shockwave.”
The King asked, “Why are you in chains?”
Shockwave said, “They constantly pay us wages which barely allow us to get even one package of fruit, let alone, shelter, food and water. So I had no choice but to steal..”
The King looked stern and said, “You admit you are a THIEF?”
Shockwave looked down and said, “I am poor and starving. The leader of this town is corrupt and arrogant and withholds resources willfully even if it causes us to die!”
Kiota retorted, “YOU can hear your subjects chanting! IT is his FAULT he is poor!”
Shockwave shook his head and said, “It is not true! HE IS--”
General L waved his hand and the room fell silent. Sparkwave looks around impassively and said, “who is the leader of your group?” A man named Kiota said, “That would be me.”
Sparkwave nodded thoughtfully and shouted to his guards, “Kiota why is this man starving, what do you have to say for one of your people starving?” The King stared at Kiota and added, “The law of my land is that everyone has access to food, water and shelter.”
Kiota flinched in terror. Sparkwave became angry at this point and said, “So you have nothing to say? This SETTLES the matter... Take Kiota to the dungeon where there will be no release! Anyone who persecutes others will join Kiota in the dungeon!” A few of the King’s guards surrounded Kiota and started to drag him away to the jail below. An uproar ensued and Kiota’s followers each pulled out rifles. They screamed, “DOWN with the king!”
Lily and Sunbeam had been released from the hospital ward as they approached the the throne room, they heard the commotion. Sunbeam and Lily slipped in unnoticed and they whispered to each other and nodded their heads in agreement. Kiota who was released from the guards for fear their king would be shot laughed, “NOW who has the advantage!”
Lily heard enough to became enraged and slammed her hands to the ground. Vines errupted from the ground winding around the rifles and disarming the guards. Kiota’s followers panicked. Sunbeam slammed his fist into Kiota’s face knocking him down.
Kiota slowly got up and tried to run, but General Z smiled, amused blocking his way saying, “I don’t know who you are, but you don’t threaten a king and then think you can escape... You die!”
General Z stared at Kiota who became terrified and slowly walked back as General Z drew his sword preparing to kill Kiota. The King waved his hand saying, “No need General Z. Take these arrogant rebels to the dungeon to pay for their sins.”
Kiota winced saying, “Well at least I won’t die...”
Sparkwave chuckled, “you may wish otherwise soon though, I don’t take rebellion lightly.”
And so, Sparkwave’s guards dragged Kiota and his men into the dark dungeon and chained them standing against the wall.
General Z went downstairs to see if he could talk some sense into Kiota saying, “Well, I hope this humbles your hard heart. Otherwise, you will have an unhappy end.”
Kiota cursed and spat at General Z and began swearing in as many words as he could.
General Z sighed, “I am doing this for both you and the good of the kingdom. Sadly, it seems I may have to teach you some respect.”
General Z opened the cell and touched Kiota’s mouth. This caused his mouth to become numb and unable to move.”
Kiota glared at General Z furious about this situation.
General Z closed the cell door and then shrugged before leaving.
Meanwhile upstairs, Sparkwave noticed a wisp of a shadow appear before him and was about to blast it when the shadow spoke: “Wait! I just wanted to let you know, Zir and Zona are in our possession and will remain so unless you send General Z to rescue them.”
Sparkwave’s hand began to fill with lightning and the wisp replied, “killing me won’t do you any good, I have been instructed to let you probe my mind.”
Sparkwave sighed and fired it out the window causing it to dissipate. Then he looked at the shadow and said, “Come then.” The wispy shadow moved towards Sparkwave and bowed low. Sparkwave put his hand to the wisp and probed him.
Sparkwave finally at the last second replied, “I see… so its that way. tell him to send no one else or they will be electrocuted. And I shall send General Z as you have requested.”
The shadow backed off and fleed at that moment to return back to Nightmare.
General L was nearby and asked, “Why did you let that thing live.”
Sparkwave replied, “As a warning to Nightmare and because Nightmare is the real problem.”
Sunbeam approached the throne briefly and said, “Can I go into battle with General Z? I want to...”
Sparkwave shouted, “Absolutely not! You are still not strong enough! and I will not have your death on my conscience!”
Sunbeam started to speak, but Sparkwave shook his head, “Don’t bother again!”
Sunbeam sighed and went back to his room very sullen.
General Z appeared much to their shock and replied, “I have heard your message. Allow me to take one soldier with me.”
Sparkwave seemed to know what he was thinking and replied, “No.”
General Z sighed, “Very well, but he will never learn if I do not take him.”
Sparkwave slammed his fist on the table and said, “Good, we don’t want him to learn to control his power or else the risk could be very grave.”
General L watched General Z strode out saying nothing more and said, “I have a feeling he is going to disobey you.”
Sparkwave nodded, “Indeed, but if he does, he will pay the price.”
He said this and opened his mouth and shot a bolt of lightning at General Z as a warning. General Z however put his hand behind him and much to Sparkwave’s surprise neutralized it with a wave of his hand. General Z turned around shrugged and continued on his way. General L was in awe and gasped, “What kind of power does that man have?” Sparkwave wondered the same thing and said, “I fear he may have more strength than even Nightmare. Although Nightmare I believe still is more powerful for various other reasons.”
General Z entered Sunbeam’s room for a brief moment and said, “You wish to fight, I will leave you with two options, Allow me to cloak you, this will last for long enough to get you to Zanmal’s castle. However, this could be dangerous, you may even die from the cloaking process alone. Some people go mad when they become invisible the way I do. However, it will all be for nothing if anyone hears you... As for your girlfriend, she isn’t ready yet and may need to remain behind. Sunbeam looked at General Z and replied, “Why are you doing this though? Won’t you get in trouble?” General Z gave a grin before saying, “I have my reasons. Now make thy choice.”
Sunbeam reaffirmed what he said before, and General Z touched his face. Sunbeam looked around and saw he was invisible and for some reason he had this feeling that if he screamed he would be revealed. Thus he tried to fight the urge for the feeling of not seeing his body made this temptation very real.
General Z became invisible too and for some reason Sunbeam could see him. General Z replied, “invisible people under this power can see each other and hear each other.”
King Sparkwave saluted General Z and his team as they entered the cockpit and then as they flew off, he muttered to himself.
General L asked, “What is wrong my king?”
King Sparkwave sighed, “Sunbeam Is most definitely with him.”
General L stood up right saying, “why did you not stop them?”
King Sparkwave sighed, “General Z is more powerful than I, and quite frankly, I have this feeling that he is not for or against us… yet something tells me this is inevitable.”
Lily felt a jolt of pain in her heart and thought, “Sunbeam… you have gone haven’t you… without saying goodbye even… I wish you the best my beloved.”
Lily began to sob tears flowing down her as she clutched her heart wondering if she would ever see her beloved again.
Sunbeam too wondered and felt the same feeling around this time and thought, “Sorry Lily.”
Shockwave spoke as the spaceship was flying, “Okay General Z level with me, did you really need to bring him?” General Z nodded, “Yes, his potential is too important for me to allow to be wasted. He is important to my missions.”
Sunbeam’s cloak faded at this point as General Z touched him and some of the crew asked, “who is he?”
General Z replied, “It is of no importance, first stop Zanmal’s castle. Full speed ahead.”
The crew consisting of five people nodded and set it into its turbo mode as they said, “Brace for it, this may be a bit turbulent.” Sunbeam sat down and held on for his life as the ship went five hundred miles per hour. Sunbeam wondered how he was still alive at such speed. General Z took his hand and let him into a gravity room. General Z smiled saying, “We will reach there in three days, but you must be ready to fight by then, this is the gravity room.”
Sunbeam asked, “So what does that mean?”
General Z snapped his fingers and Sunbeam fell to the ground but fortunately, the floor was soft in this room so it only startled him.
Sunbeam asked, “So its that kind of room, but still what is this floor made of?”
General Z laughed, “It is made of a soft type of physically unbreakable mineral which is used for the interior of most ships nowadays.”
Sunbeam asked, “is it really unbreakable?”
General Z replied “Yes and no, it is unbreakable against physical damage by itself, but yeah, it is possible.”
Sunbeam said, “It should be called almost unbreakable then.”
General Z nodded solemnly in agreement and said, “Try to rise from the ground now.”
Sunbeam slowly tried to get up but found it was terribly difficult.
General Z knew this would be a challenge but he felt certain Sunbeam could do it.
Sunbeam asked, “I wonder if there is something similar in this world to this feeling here.”
General Z said, “Yes, if you learned to fly and went up high enough, or a very high mountain, you would feel this pain. I know you can handle this though. On day three we will spar till we get there.”
Sunbeam replied, “wait what?”
General Z smiled, “I will go easy on you, but just so you know, three days in this gravity chamber is equal to ten years of training.”
Sunbeam slowly got to his feet finally able to move around saying, “This hurts, but I wonder, what’s next now that I can move?”
General Z gave a wink saying, “I will show you soon. I have much to teach you.”
Sunbeam payed close attention to General Z and noticed that it was almost as if the gravity and turbulence had no effect on him. General Z marveled to himself secretly how Sunbeam was actually able to move around in such conditions even if it was slowly.
Later that night Sunbeam began to dream, he looked around and saw a tree with some branches. Each branch had a different name most of which were written in code. One name stuck out though, and it was his own name. Then he saw one of the branches had his sisters name on it. But it suddenly tore from the tree and became its own tree. However, something didn’t look right about the tree. The tree that grew from it began to burn and he woke up with a cold sweat wondering what that dream meant. General Z was sound asleep and Sunbeam woke him up saying, “I had a strange dream.”
General Z replied, “You woke me up for this eh, well let’s hear your dream, since I awake now.”
Sunbeam told his dream about his sister and what was happening and General Z nodded, “I do believe that is an omen of things to come.” Sunbeam’s eyes began to fill with tears, but General Z replied, “Enough, we must continue training, sorry to gruff, but you can do nothing for her as you are now.”
Sunbeam’s eyes filled with anger but at gaze of General Z’s impassive blue eyes his eyes softened almost in wonder.
They began to fight each other as a means for him to get stronger. They fought almost nonstop from that point for the second day only stopping to eat and drink before getting back to it. Sunbeam slowly gained experience of how to fight with his bare fists.
Then on the third day, came an interruption for a strange giant spaceship was flying nearby and was many times larger then their ship. This spaceship was sucking in General Z’s tiny spaceship.
Sunbeam became alarmed and said, “What do we do now?” General Z laughed, “Nothing… yet. They will not conquer us, but unfourantely, I need to stay hidden for now. “you and Sunbeam, must be ready to fight, but I guarantee you, it will not be easy at all!”
Shockwave looked at Sunbeam and saw he looked beat and asked, “you okay?”
Sunbeam replied, “Yes… but you have no idea, what I have been th...rough…”
Then all of a sudden Sunbeam, passed out and Shockwave caught him as he began to fall to the ground.
General Z remarked to himself, “I had better be careful, and keep my mind closed to all, but I also need to figure out who these people are… I could sense dark thoughts coming from them.”
Shockwave entered the main spaceship rather hesitantly and looked around and it was dead quiet, he carried Sunbeam with him and thought to himself, “I wish there was more light in this place.”
Then a candle became lit as if by magic…
Shockwave became alarmed and tried to run back into the ship with Sunbeam, but suddenly the door they came in from sealed behind them completely shut.
Then the candle began to move away from them. Shockwave followed the candle still carrying Sunbeam and taking note of the signs of death nearby. Bones were scattered across the ground and blood stains were on the wall and some words were even written with that blood saying, “Turn back!” and also, “Hope is lost!” and even, “We are all doomed!”
Shockwave finally stopped and said, “Who are you...”
There was silence and the candle fell to the ground and everything went dark.
Shockwave shouted, “Who the hell are you! And why did you take our ship! I know someone alive is here, so who are you!”
Then suddenly, they had only seconds to run as lava began to spew out of the walls from behind them. General Z barely got into the room in time and just at the last second warned them shouting, “Run! there is lava behind you!”
They just barely managed to get in with General Z and suddenly, the lights all turned on.
A man in a white lab coat with blue eyes and blonde hair stared at them.
“My name is Sable, what is yours?”
General Z sighed a breath of relief and said, “Why are you here Sable?”
Sable laughed, “Your plans are foolish General Z, I am only trying to warn you for the betterment of the world. That being said, “Zanmal is expecting you to be alone… if he sees anyone else, he may kill them, so I will cloak everyone else so well for the next hour that he won’t even hear, see or detect you in any way shape or form.”
General Z asked, “Did you have to get rid of my crew?”
Sable sighed, “Yes, if I didn’t Nightmare may have killed Zir and Zona. I cannot cloak them and your two allies also.”
Sable also added, “I kicked your crew out a while ago. They still are alive, worry not, they are probably back at the kingdom by now. Anyways, Sunbeam and Shockwave rescue and you kill Zanmal. But be very careful, Zanmal is rumored to have armor as hard as carbon steel. Even Yazu is afraid of him.”
General Z laughed, “Oh, I forgot about him, how is he doing, has he truly reformed?”
Sable laughed, “Yes he has, and he is atoning for his sins, even as we speak in prison. He creates jewels, for us to use as cannon fodder, they don’t look real, but they are still every bit as dangerous for such a purpose.”
General Z finally replied, “He still is in prison huh, is he happy there?”
Sable nodded and said, “Yes, he has a life sentence after killing so many of Sparkwave’s people. He doesn’t seem in a hurry to leave, I think he fears leaving for multiple reasons... But I must go now, prepare yourself, this won’t be easy. Like his father Zardakent and the wife of Zardakent, he is rumored to be impossible to cut with a sword. But your special abilities will do no good here.
General Z laughed, “Excellent, a true challenge like this doesn’t come along very often. I only wish I could kill Zardakent too just like he killed my fallen comrade, Zumoki.”
Sable laughed, “You miss her don’t you.”
General Z replied, “Yes I do, I did love her a lot. We almost got married, but she died thanks to him...”
Sable noted how he said him and replied, “You need to let that go, and your crazy scheme, that being said, I wish you the best on this mission.”
Sable replied, “Oh, by the way this spaceship is all yours.” Then Sable burst into lightning and exited the spaceship.
Shockwave looked at the ship and replied, “I can fly this, but it will be a bumpy ride. But he did give us a faster ship, so we will be there much, much sooner.”
Sunbeam asked, “So I take it our job is to rescue Zona and Zir?”
General Z nodded and replied, “But once you exit here, you will be invisible for a short time, so you must free them and get back here quick, I don’t think you will be invisible for long...”
Sunbeam asked, “Sure, but does anyone know their way around here?” Shockwave replied, “Not really, I will stay with the ship and keep it cloaked. You two go in and rescue… we will be there in an hour.
Sure enough, in an hour they arrived noticing a graveyard below them.
Sunbeam quivered a bit and whispered, “Do I really...”
General Z replied, “Such is often the way with these missions, this is only the beginning of this type of mission. The stronger you get, the creepier places you have to go to.”
Sunbeam laughed in spite of himself, “You can’t be serious. You have to be joking.”
General Z shushed him and said, “Let us be going now. Remember be careful and move like the wind if need be.”
General Z jumped down from the spaceship as did Sunbeam. General Z touched an odd looking tombstone with freshly dug dirt. Then the tomb moved to reveal a long staircase going down what seemed to be an endlessly long path. General Z whispered into his mind, “They are located at the basement floor ten. But be warned, there is a powerful guard near there. I don’t know much about him either which is even more alarming.”
Zanmal sneered, “they always try and they always die... this is nothing different then a battle my parents would fight. To think, I once desired things a different way... so long ago.
then he gripped his sword saying, “My brother, you foolish pawn, you have been cursed because of being unwilling to do your parent’s bidding... I am going to use you to carve this world into a haven for myself only... a haven of death of and bloodshed where I alone am revered as a king.”
Zanmal recalled how as a kid he was constantly angry and his brother was always so much stronger, but as time passed, living in his shadow, eventually his brother’s weakness came out. Malzan had said to him, “I don’t like this... bloodshed is just so wrong... why do our parents want us to be bloodthirsty murderers?” Zanmal recalled however that after ten years of this. Malzan had finally had enough and got into a fight with his father Zardakent. Zardakent cursed Malzan saying, “You are not worthy! You will pay for this!” Then Malzan ran for his life and Zanmal remembered he was given a special curse from Zardakent to curse his brother for his disobedience and to steal his strength. Zanmal laughed. “Oh brother, you could have been so much more... we could have been a good team of bloodthirsty assassins but because of your disobedience, your power is mine and mine alone!”
Zanmal pondered this for a moment more before he saw Sunbeam go downstairs on his radar. Zanmal sneered, “well they are, this is good!”
General Z was about to follow when a shadowy humanoid shape appeared before him and said, “Welcome to the graveyard, I trust you will enjoy your permantent stay. My name is Zanmal, I will be your gravedigger and executioner!”
General Z laughed, “quit the pleasentries and prepare to die.”
Zanmal snarled, “Very well, we shall fight...”
General Z drew his sword out of his mouth much to Zanmal’s disgust.
The sword looked ordinary to Zanmal who bragged, “That’s it? My entire body is a weapon!”
Zanmal’s body began to protrude with carbon steel sticking out in every direction.
General Z had just time to slash as Zanmal went on the offense.
Zanmal was unaffected and he laughed, “Your arrogance will be your undoing.”
General Z’s sword and Zanmal’s body kept clashing time after time.
Zanmal cackled, “You are impressive, but you will fail this way regardless of how good a swordsman you are.”
As this happened with the collosion of General Z’s sword and Zanmal, Sunbeam was passing down floor after floor. Sunbeam finally got down to the tenth floor and stopped to catch his breath, but then he remembered he had no time to rest and proceeded to follow General Z’s instructions. General Z had whispered, “The door with the golden star, enter that.” General Z meanwhile took a hit to his chest and began to bleed.
Zanmal sneered, “You fool, I told you… You cannot cut me!”
General Z became serious and said, “We will see.”
Zanmal however struck General Z, again and again tearing into his armor in the process and causing him to bleed further. Zanmal suddenly froze for a moment which gave General Z the chance to knock him against a huge tombstone breaking it. Zanmal asked, “Where did you get wounds like that...”
General Z smiled, “That is my little secret young child.”
Zanmal growled, “How dare you! I am two hundred years old… YOU!”
General Z shrugged, “You still act like a child though.”
Zanmal suddenly charged at General Z knocking him to the ground and his hands appeared to have drills protruding through them.
Zanmal sneered, “Your foolish pawn will fail, I know you brought someone with you! It is just like you… I know you, you see, Zaka.”
Then Zanmal began to drill into his body with his hands.
General Z didn’t make a noise and seemed to go into a quiet moment. In this, he recalled
when his father was teaching him how to use a sword. “Zaka, one day you may need to learn how to cut steel with steel, maybe your enemy may even have the stronger weapon or be even more durable then steel... but the way to defeat said enemy is difficult… You must find the balance between the power within and your own strength.”
General Z recalled this and how he asked what that meant. Then his father replied, “you will know one day what I mean…” As General Z contemplated this all for a brief moment, he suddenly spewed blood in Zanmal’s face due to the pain.
Shockwave by this point had left the ship to try and help him.
Zanmal noticing this got up from his attack and said, “Nice try, You may be strong enough to kill Nightmare, but I am your weakness! Well, I could execavate your organs, but I have more pressing concerns. Besides, you should be dead by now.”
General Z slowly went through the thoughts in his mind, thinking, “I must defeat this arrogant speck. No matter what, I am not ready to die just yet… till I complete my mission. Oh Zumoki… You shall be… Avenged.”
Shockwave sent a burst of lightning at Zanmal who was running through the electricity unharmed. Shockwave realized then he needed to run so he could figure out a strategy.
Zanmal retracting his drills in his hand and slammed Shockwave with his fists almost knocking him out on to the ground. Shockwave was about to die, but Zanmal, looked up in astonishment and saw General Z dripping blood was getting up much to his surprise and had was holding his sword. Zanmal gave a slow clap and said, “Bravo, you are someone clearly who doesn’t know when to give up. I will finish you off then!”
General Z remembering his father’s words prepared to slash. Zanmal drew his own sword and charged towards General Z. This time, Zanmal had powerful carbon steel drills protruding from his entire body. General Z suddenly slashed as hard as he could and Zanmal and his weapons met with General Z’s sword before they passed each other.
Zanmal laughed, “Now it is finally over.”
Then Zanmal suddenly felt his body on all sides, suddenly crack as if he had been slashed many times in many different places even though it was only once. Zanmal screamed in great anger for he was bleeding massively like General Z was. Zanmal grabbed his sword and charged once more at General Z saying, “I Will WIN!”
Zanmal’s blade suddenly became one hundred times stronger as he put his own blood on it. He cried out, “Malzan my cursed sword shall KILL YOU!”
General Z’s eyes were becoming blurry by this point and blood was dripping down one of his eyes from the last confrontation. General Z slashed once more as Zanmal struck with every bit of strength he could. And this time, General Z fell to the ground barely alive and bleeding profusely. Shockwave began to run towards General Z. General Z slowly was passing in and out of death he felt, and he said, “It seems you have lost your life Zanmal.”
Sunbeam, Zir and Zona had escaped the building just in time to witness Zanmal fall to the ground and his sword broke into many different pieces.
Zanmal’s sword burst into flames and they saw a ghostly form escape the blade, wave and vanish and an ghostly figure arose and before vanished waved once in gratitude.
Zanmal laughed, “I don’t believe it… how could I have been defeated so… easily.”
General Z replied, “you will know soon enough. It is only a shame you didn’t join me when you had the chance...”
Zanmal gave one more laugh of contempt and his eyes closed in death.
General Z understood that Zanmal didn’t know his dual identity and that his last attack was too much for Zanmal to keep fighting. Nightmare back at his castle at the instant of Zanmal’s, knew that Zanmal had lost a faithful servant and his lost the mark of nimora. This enraged Nightmare who gave a scornful laugh, “That foolish pawn of mine didn’t serve his purpose.” Shockwave picked up General Z and carried him carefully back to the spaceship where Sable with his healing powers was waiting. Shockwave exclaimed, “You are gravely wounded and dying, but I will save you! We won’t lose you.”
While this had been going on, Sunbeam had freed Zona and Zir and he had unlocked Zir and Zona’s cell and unlocked them from their chains.
Zir and Zona followed Sunbeam up the stairs killing anyone or anything stupid enough to attack them.
Sable entered the ship and stopped Shockwave saying, “Allow me. Only I can save him now.”
Sable shook his head as he began to correct all the otherwise permantent damage that was caused and as he did so he said, “You normally would have died, but because Zanmal was arrogant, he lost. don’t expect this to heal easily and also don’t expect this to happen if you ever face Zardakent.” General Z’s eyes briefly opened and he replied, “I know...”
Shockwave noticed his face and said, “General Z is this who you really look like?”
Sunbeam suddenly felt strange emotions upon seeing General Z’s face…
General Z slowly tried to get up, but Sable replied, “No… you must rest or you will die no matter what I do.”
General Z said, “Fine...” Thus he went into a deep sleep.
Once they returned back to the Lightning Kingdom, Sparkwave and his generals and most of the people couldnt look at General Z due to the scars and damage on his body were worse then the last scars he had.
Sparkwave looked at Zir and asked, “Are you and Zona fine?”
Zona replied, “Yes… Thanks to Sunbeam and General Z.”
Shockwave spoke to Sparkwave saying, “You should have seen it my king, he sliced through Zanmal’s carbon steel body and the carbon steel sword known as Malzan.
Sparkwave interrupted him saying, “Yes, I gather that, but we have pressing issues at hand… I would normally have been mad at General Z for bringing Sunbeam, but it seems unfair now that he has been hurt so greviously… plus, the underground building that exploded would have killed Zona and Zir if not for the combined help of all three of you.”
Sunbeam looked at King Sparkwave and said, “Your majesty, does this mean...”
Sparkwave became exasperated and said, “Yes fine, you can come on other missions. You did free them and fight off most of those horrible creatures just in time to get Zona and Zir to safety.” “how long will he be in the hospital?” Sparkwave laughed, “If we are forunate, maybe only a year.” The doctor who was nearby said, “He claims in three months he will be better.” Sparkwave touched two fingers squeezing his skin on his forehead… “He must have a death wish then. That aside, no missions for him till he recovers completely.”
Sparkwave shouted this and Sunbeam asked, “What is it my king?”
Sparkwave replied, “Allow me to teach you to fight with your bare hands, and to use them to crush even the hardest steel. With or without your special powers!”
Sunbeam gave a nod and said, “Will you teach Lily the same strength as well?”
Sparkwave nodded, “But she is currently healing our injured. Also, I think you may not realize this, but she has the power to manipulate nature within her.”
Sunbeam shrugged, “okay? But what does...”
Sparkwave interrupted, “Let us begin, worry not, someone is training her right now to be stronger and more useful in the future. I heard tell you entered Zament’s cave correct?”
Sparkwave winked at Sunbeam’s response and said, “That is not an easy thing to do, I am surprised you are alive. Keep in mind though, Nightmare may be interested in killing you now. Although I have heard tell of the Jova Knights also being persecuted for similar and other reasons.”
Sunbeam asked, “Who are the Jova Knights?”
Sparkwave said, “They are people with special abilities that no ordinary human has, in fact it is rumored they have a long life span far beyond that of ordinary humans. But there is a catch, they also have certain weaknesses which people know not about. I suspect one of your weaknesses is water.”
Sunbeam shivered at that and said, “Not just that, but cold temperatures in general.”
Sparkwave nodded, “Yes, that sounds about right. Anyways, I will personally be training you. I have taken interest in you for some reason. I don’t think I have a huge lifespan left, but I will do my best. But please don’t use that fire ability ever if you can help it, because if you do, it may control you.”
Sunbeam laughed, “Don’t worry, it won’t.”
Sparkwave looked at him seriously saying, “You don’t know that for a fact. If you are in serious danger, I will understand if you use it as a last resort, but try to avoid doing so.”
Sparkwave sighed, “Your training will first be to fight this dull metal sword with your fists and these wooden gloves to protect your hands. They will not aid in you breaking the sword, but they will protect you from getting hurt. Now let’s begin.”
Sunbeam charged Sparkwave with the gloves as commanded but upon striking Sparkwave’s sword. He found he not only couldn’t break it, but that when Sparkwave struck his glove, it broke into pieces. Sparkwave smiled, “This won’t be easy, but don’t worry there are more gloves here. This may take a bit of time such as a month.”
“A month?” Sparkwave replied, “Yes, which actually may take too long… there is one way I can speed this up, but its far too risky and could cause your premature death.”
Sunbeam asked, “I say we try it.”
Sparkwave sighed, “Do you have a death wish?”
Sunbeam replied back, “No, but I have this feeling I need to do this soon or later on, I won’t be as strong as I need to be.”
Sparkwave thought about it and said, “Very well, this will take a day this method. Follow me...”
Sparkwave led Sunbeam through a few halls and they walked for what seemed like hours in the castle until finally they came to a door guarded by two sentinel machines as well as a human soldier.”
The human soldier asked, “You don’t really intend to bring him here do you?”
Sparkwave shrugged, “I am going to because I feel certain it is needed. Hisaki let us through.”
Hisaki sighed, “Okay, but don’t be mad if you have a corpse tomorrow.”
Sunbeam shivered on the inside, but he refused to show emotion.
Sparkwave marveled at this for he thought Sunbeam would have shown great fear. Then they went down a long narrow staircase of many flights before they stopped at the bottom where there was a door at the bottom. They opened it and went down one staircase and entered what appeared to be a small room.
Sparkwave gave the command and Sunbeam suddenly fell flat on the ground.
Sunbeam cried out, “Warn me, next time!”
Sparkwave laughed, “Yeah but there is no preparing for this. I should have warned you of that. I will give you a week actually and when we are through, I will send you to a nearby town to check on something. But first, you must get used to this gravity and while this is going on, me and you will spar. I will stand right here, your objective is to knock me down.”
Sunbeam smiled and charged at Sparkwave but the moment he got close, he slammed into a invisible wall. Sunbeam slowly got up asking, “How do I get past this?”
Sparkwave laughed, “You must use your fists to break this, it is as strong as a normal sword in both invulnerability and power. I say power because I can push this towards you. Just remember though, no special abilities for this training… well at least not fire or lightning anyways...”
Sunbeam slowly got to his feet the weight and the pain of the barrier still hurting him. He slammed his fists into the barrier blood squirted out of his hands.
Sunbeam winced, but struck time after time until finally he passed out. Sparkwave put the barrier down and checked and found he was passed out.
Sunbeam was shaken awake and said, “I am exhausted, is there a way I can get my strength back quickly?” Sparkwave shook his head saying, “You were doing this longer than I expected, thirty minutes. I have news for you, this is a place where time moves slowly. A month here is equivelant currently to a day outside. Get some rest and we will do it again.”
The next day came, the third day and so on. Every three days he had to recover for one whole day which worked well due to Sunbeam’s ability to recover from injuries combined with the gravity room’s healing qualities.
A month later finally passed and Sunbeam punched with all his might and the barrier came down.
Sparkave was beaming with joy, “Good job child, however now you have to knock me down. That is your final test and then I will allow you to visit a neighboring town.”
As Sunbeam closed his eyes and something interesting took place stunning both of them. Sparkwave noticed his eyes had a blue pupil within them. Sparkwave smiled to himself and showed Sunbeam what had happened and said, “You appear to have gained a new strength from this.”
Sunbeam asked, “But my eyes are orange!” Sparkwave replied, “Relax, this is temporary. This happens when you feel under pressure. Learning to control this ability will take time, but beware it has a costly side effect of draining your mana quickly.” “What is mana?” Sunbeam asked and Sparkwave replied, “There are currently three types of mana, your lifeforce, your physical energy and special energy. This mana you are using now is your special energy.”
Sunbeam asked, “What is the difference between lifeforce and physical?”
Sparkwave replied, “your lifeforce mana doesn’t regenerate and is finite.”
Sunbeam asked, “I used it once...”
Sparkwave sighed, “Yes… with General Z’s test right?”
Sunbeam nodded sadly. Sparkwave smiled, “Worry not, you probably used only a small amount for that battle. And besides that, your lifeforce energy I suspect is far greater then you realize. But obviously don’t push your luck either. Or you will die much sooner in life… I would estimate you lost ten years of your life from that battle though.”
Sunbeam asked, “and what if I have an ordinary life span?”
Sparkwave laughed, “I really doubt that. Do not worry though, it will take your life away much quicker and not help in the slightest.”
Sunbeam asked, “So shall we begin?”
Sparkwave smiled, “I was going to…”
Sunbeam asked, “But?”
Sparkwave became serious saying, “I think you are more ready then I first realized. But first think calm thoughts or you will eventually faint from the strain.”
Sunbeam did so and watched his eyes slowly return to their normal orange color.
Then Sparkwave said, “To activate that ability and gain even more strength and sight, you will need to utitlize your emotions without getting angry or your eyes will turn red. If that happens, you will still gain more power, but I suspect you will find yourself doing things you will later regret...”
Then Sparkwave and Sunbeam began the long walk back upstairs so they could both rest. The moment each of them got inside their rooms, Sunbeam fell into a deep sleep.
Sparkwave however met in secret with Slasher and said, “Keep your eye out for anything suspicious...”
Slasher bowed saying, “Yes my king.”
Sparkwave watched him go but something was bothering which he didn’t fully understand.
The next day Sparkwave was attempting to teach Sunbeam how to wield the power of lightning. Sunbeam asked, “I can’t do this for very long, why is this?”
Sparkwave laughed, “You aren’t used to it yet, this is a different focus than fire.”
Sunbeam replied, “But also, your lightning is yellow and mine is a blue.”
“Well you cannot very well expect to have the highest class of the power of lightning right away silly.”
Sparkwave thought about it saying, “Maybe use the special eyes of yours could speed up your growth. But be careful, you will tire much quicker.”
Sunbeam got silent and slowly felt himself forming the energy tentacles.
Sparkwave noticed that when Sunbeam’s eyes began to change colors towards blue for a brief moment. Sparkwave said, “Watch this now,”
Sparkwave summoned a lightning bolt to his hand and said, “copy this,”
Sunbeam focused his entire being into this and managed to begin to summon a lightning bolt. Then suddenly his eyes slowly changed colors again and the bolt began to fizzle. Sunbeam began to shiver and slowly began to pass out. Sparkwave thought, “Hmm, he still needs more time before he can fight with this attack. Well I guess I will need train him more.”
Sparkwave sent a tentacle from his body to grab him before he could hit the hard ground beneath them.
Sunbeam’s eyes were cloudy saying, “Darnit… I need more time.”
Sparkwave sighed, “We will try to get you more strength, but it will take a month or so of this, eventually you will get it, but for now, rest for a moment. And do not argue, okay.”
Sunbeam nodded slowly as he tried to get up but Sparkwave said, “Just rest, each day, you will get stronger.”
Sure enough, each day the same training over and over again Sunbeam began to be able to keep his eyes focused like that longer. Sparkwave marveled at how Sunbeam in a few weeks could wield the yellow lightning more and more until finally he said, “You are learning this quick, now, General L will help you learn some more skills and...”
A servant wearing a mask with a symbol of the Lightning Kingdom on their armor approached Sparkwave saying, “We hear rumors that some people having been gravedigging and also...”
“Also… What?” Sparkwave demanded but the servant then whispered into Sparkwave’s ears about how some people were apparently disappearing as if they were being sucked out of their skin.
Sparkwave became serious saying, “Sunbeam, sorry to cut your mission short, but I want you to check something out.”
Sunbeam smiled, “What do you want me to check, I am ready for anything!”
Sparkwave sighed, “I hope so...”
“Shockwave!” Shockwave bowed and King Sparkwave replied, “I just received reports of gravediggers in the town. I want you, Sunbeam, Lily to enter the town and dig up some information. We have had reports of some people graverobbing. But this isn’t all… some people have also been disappearing as if they were being sucked out of their skin.”
Shockwave and Sunbeam grimaced at this and said, “Are you sure? and you sound different...”
Sparkwave gave a hearty laugh and said, “Don’t worry about it, just do so soon… there are people within the town who will welcome you in a the bell tower to help you.”
Shockwave flinched in terror saying, “yes sir!”
Sunbeam and Lily were instantly suspicious but they said nothing and went into town with Shockwave, for they wanted some action. The moment they entered the town however they immediately froze in terror. Shockwave slowly backed away, but felt a cold metal object poke him in the back. A man shouted behind him, “So here are the ones she wanted...”
The men bound them up and drove them into the old bell tower. Then when they entered the tower a masked woman stared at them saying sneering, “I don’t know why he wants you guys here, but it appears you have the next test subjects wanted! Enjoy your fleeting lives while you can.”
Then a man stepped forward saying, “Enough Zalnoxa, leave us.”
Zalnoxa left the room as the man gazed at Lily, Sunbeam and Shockwave.
“Shockwave, Sunbeam, Lily! Your destiny awaits...”
“How do you know our names?!?”
Sunbeam asked. The man smiled, “I am known as Zanark.” Shockwave asked, “Okay… but why did you bring us in here?”
Zanark replied, “Come on downstairs and you may leave after you look around.”
Lily became nervous saying, “I don’t like that idea.”
Shockwave shrugged saying, “very well.”
Sunbeam followed Shockwave and Lily sighed, “Boys...”
As she said that she relunctantly followed them down the stairs.
Then she saw young men downstairs their age, Lily blushed and hid behind Sunbeam. One of the boys laughed saying, “What’s the matter, your safe here. If you follow Zanark, you will never be alone again.”
Lily instantly became fearful and looked at Sunbeam and Shockwave in turn and said, “We need to leave now!”
Sunbeam looked at Lily’s face and saw a beauty and a terror he hadn’t seen before. Sunbeam blushed momentarily and Lily took his hand and pulled him upstairs. Zanark smiled, “Very well, you may go, I trust we will meet again someday.”
Shockwave followed close behind irritated and said, “Wait why are we leaving? They were offering a huge banquet below!”
Lily sighed, “We may have not been able to leave if we had stayed much longer. I felt this pressure to not leave...”
Sunbeam regarded her saying, “I didn’t feel that, but I trust you.”
Shockwave laughed, “Just be honest, you left because she wanted you to.”
Sunbeam ignored this asked, “Oh come on, you love her don’t you?” Lily became exasperated. Sunbeam looked at him with a glare saying, “No more...” “Shockwave laughed, “I know why you love her, she is beautiful, be honest, you just want to see her naked.”
Lily looked at Shockwave in shock and began to run blushing with tears in her eyes. Shockwave was takenaback as Lily began to run in the opposite direction. Sunbeam regarded Shockwave with a glare clenching his teeth saying, “Be silent you worm!” Then his composure returned as he turned his back to Shockwave. He called out, “Wait up babe!”
Shockwave cursed under his breath and tried to catch up.
Lily kept running and finally Sunbeam caught up to Lily. Sunbeam looked at Lily and said, “Don’t let him get the best of you, I love you for who you are inside more than even I do on the outside.”
Lily smiled weakly saying, “I need to be alone for the moment, but thank you Sunbeam.”
Sunbeam asked, “We are on a mission though.”
Lily nodded slowly tears began to fall from her face as she said, “How could he even ask something so offensive. Does he think that’s the only reason I love you.”
Sunbeam put his hand on her hand and said, “He may, but worry not if he says that again, I will punch him.” Sunbeam’s fists clenched so hard that his veins could clearly be seen. But Lily replied, “No don’t… but thank you Sunbeam for being such a loving, kind caring person.”
Sunbeam and Lily blushed for a moment and looked like they were about to kiss, but Lily drew back as Shockwave approached and Sunbeam pulled away as well.
Then they became aware of their surroundings and Shockwave said, “Damn, I am sorry, please don’t hate me.”
Lily and Sunbeam simutanteously ignored him.
This however would be temporary as they realized they were near a cemetry where someone could be heard digging.
Lily shivered, “I feel like ice is being poured into my skin...”
Sunbeam looked around and his body began to exude heat like a fireplace.
Shockwave noticed this and said, “How is your body not melting?”
Sunbeam considered Shockwave and looked at Lily who sighed saying, “I don’t care… tell him if you want...”
Shockwave sighed as Sunbeam regarded him before saying, “my blood is neither fire nor lightning, it is both in a sense...”
Shockwave asked, “You mean its like plasma energy?”
Sunbeam nodded saying, “You could say that, I am not entirely sure myself… but I think it is a precursor to controlling such abilities…”
Shockwave nodded, “I think it is plasma energy then, but even still, why tell me this? Now I know your weakness.”
Sunbeam shrugged, “I am not the least bit afraid of you and besides that...”
Shockwave was about to respond but froze as the digging sounds got louder and this time they knew the exact spot of the gravedigger.
Sunbeam put his hand pointing towards the ground and poured out his special energy into flames shaped like a sword.
Lily suddenly ducked back as Sunbeam slammed into someone preparing to strike him down with his sword.
Then Lily heard a boy scream and she feared the worst. Sunbeam suddenly paused and saw a young boy his age say, “Why you do that, you meany!”
All three of them looked and saw a young boy dressed in some animal fur and Lily sighed, “You were too trigger happy Sunbeam.” Sunbeam sighed, “My bad babe… but why was he digging up these graves?” Then they recognized him and said, “You are that boy who General L didn’t like aren’t you. Raven is your name right?”
Raven laughed, “yep that’s me.”
Shockwave sighed, “Don’t you know you could get in trouble doing this.”
Raven asked, “But someone who was an official of the Lightning Kingdom told me to do this.”
Lily asked, “Who is that?”
Raven began to sob saying, “Graves told me to or… or...”
Sunbeam asked, “Can you lead us to him?”
Raven however became shook up and Shockwave said, “Run along now then, you are not in trouble, just leave, I suspect this Graves is a dangerous individual and manipulated you do to this.”
Raven nodded sadly and ran off.
Lily and Sunbeam both exchanged looks of confusion and Shockwave sighed, “Well, now we just need to find this Graves person I suppose.”
They looked around and then saw another man nearby. Lily lunged at him but much to her surprise she went right through him. The person turned to face her saying, “A curse on your house!”
Lily cried out, “Wait why?”
The person smiled, “alright then, if you return my body, I will spare your life. But you have till next month to do so.” Lily asked, “But we didn’t take your body!”
She also realized this person must be a ghost and also added, “You are a ghost then?!?”
The ghostly man nodded saying, “When our bodies are removed from our graves and our spirits are still on this plane of existence for whatever reason, we have no choice to haunt you foolish mortals till they are returned, because we cannot sleep otherwise.”
Sunbeam asked, “Don’t curse her, its Graves who...”
The ghostly man cried out, “Silence! You have ten days before the next month, I suggest you use it wisely. By the way, my name is Yimada.”
Shockwave glared at Yimada saying, “You know we are innocent, I think you are just...”
Yimada laughed, “All three of you will be punished if our bodies aren’t returned. But rest assured, you three seem like intelligent people, you will find our bodies I am sure...”
Sunbeam asked, “Any ideas where they could be?”
Yimada sneered, “how should I know, you took them!”
Sunbeam sighed, “Well humor us, can you tell them what they look like?”
Yimada entered each of them in turn and said, “These are their bodies. Now GO!”
They proceeded to leave but then Yimada called back, “hmm… fine. I just checked your memories and it appears you didn’t steal our bodies. Fine, but you will still retain the curse till you find the one who did. Once he is killed, merely bring his body to this cemetry and bury him here and he will suffer for what he has done.”
Shockwave asked, “Is that really fair to make us be subject to the curse till...”
Yimada sneered, “Maybe I can make this more fair, I will teach you how to fight the unseen if you do this for me. Besides, this will help you should that person come back...”
“Who?” They asked and Yimada sighed, “The origin of Zament, is a cruel and dark story, you are not ready to hear it. That being said, he is, and always was a not so nice person even before he became an absolute tyrant. That is all you need to know for now.”
Lily asked, “Can you guide us to the bodies?”
Yimada laughed, “I am stuck in this graveyard so I cannot help you. That being said, “I have heard rumors of a man who can bring the dead bodies back to life, although their souls remain dead usually. Unless they are like me...”
The three of them were silent for a moment and asked, “What is his name?”
Zimada replied, “Graves…”
Sunbeam replied, “I think we know who has your bodies then...”
Zimada shrugged, “If such a person exists...”
But suddenly Zimada’s body faded vanished as an arrow pierced his soul and a voice said, “You know too much to be allowed to live my young fools!”
They looked up and saw a hideous silhouette of a creature look down on them. This creature had many golden eyes all over his body. Lily suddenly passed out as many snake like hands came out of many of his eyes grabbing her.
Sunbeam immediately charged the creature saying, “Leave her alone!”
Shockwave called out, “WAIT!” The creature sneered as more of his eyes opened saying, “You think you can best Yamator the Spirit Beast? I think not! You will never kill my protege Graves!”
Shockwave snarled at Yamator as he began to cut the snakes off of Lily. Then he noticed she had been bit by the snakes. She was breathing heavily and said, “I can’t heal… My body...”
She trailed off as Sunbeam got to Yamator’s face and watched as Sunbeam was close to slamming his fist into Yamator. This however failed as he went right through Yamator’s face and he narrowly slammed into a tombstone with his face but at the last second broke it in half with his hand. This however caused Sunbeam to wince as he had drawn blood. Yamator laughed like a maniac, nice try but I can make my body solid or ghostly at any given time and in any given place!”
Shockwave watched as Yamator’s snakes returned to his eyes and he knew this meant Lily was no longer a threat to him. Sunbeam’s eyes began to glow with fury and besides his pupil in his eye turning blue, Shockwave noticed that his eye had a tiny fiery dot above his pupil within his eye that was also blue. Shockwave thought, “don’t tell me his power is growing stronger...”
Sunbeam punched with each of his hands however this time one of his hands connected with Yamator hitting his chest causing it to become solid.
Yamator spat some form of blood up cursing and spewing venomous words.
Sunbeam realized then that the hand that connected with him was bloody. Sunbeam backed off of Yamator before he could counterattack properly and put his hands together causing blood to trickle down on both of them.
Yamator became enraged at this saying, “So you know how to hurt me eh… let’s see you survive this then!”
Yamator opened his mouth and sent a jet of venom at him. Sunbeam suddenly surrounded himself with fire thus negating the venom.
Yamator became alarmed and flew up into the sky and Sunbeam unclenched his fists and pointed his palms each at Yamator and sent a jet of fire at Yamator.
Shockwave called out, “WAIT we need his venom!”
But it was too late, Sunbeam caused Yamator to take a severe burn and began to vaporize but also laughing, “Don’t think this is over, I have yet to show you anything...”
Yamator vaporized completely upon this and Shockwave noticed Lily’s condition returned to normal. Shockwave was puzzled, “how can this be? We didn’t administer an anti-venom?”
Lily slowly got up dazed saying, “Well he was a ghost… maybe he…”
But she winced as she got up in pain. Sunbeam ran to Lily and asked, “Are you alright?”
Lily saw his hands and began to heal them saying, “What happened to you?”
Sunbeam and Lily hugged before Shockwave said, “I wonder...”
Lily and Sunbeam looked at him and asked, “what do you mean?”
Shockwave sighed, “nothing much, I just wondered why the poison left you upon his death.”
Sunbeam asked, “Maybe its because its like a curse type of poison. You kill the ghost, he fades.”
Yimada reappeared saying, “That is correct… now go find this Graves okay?”
Then, suddenly, Lily fell to the ground screaming and riving in agony. Sunbeam tried to console her saying, “What is wrong babe?” Lily however couldn’t see nor hear him. Shockwave became concerned saying, “He is nearby...”
Sunbeam suddenly looked up and saw a young boy with leather coat on with a familiar face. He spat, “How dare you Spikes! You little!” Sunbeam clenched his fists ready to fight, but Spikes laughed, “Unfourantely, I have been rendered harmless by that accursed Vamura. So its not me doing this.”
Sunbeam grabbed him by the neck saying, “You expect me to BELIEVE that?”
Spikes sneered, “I definitely would if I could, I detest that girl, but nevertheless, I am in your hands now, do whatever but know for certain that killing me won’t help her. The crawler has tossed me aside.” Shockwave told Sunbeam to let him go and Sunbeam reluctantly did. Spikes sighed, “I am here only to relay a message from Vamura. Nightmare is testing your quality as we speak, the only way to save that girl is to find and defeat the caster. Good luck, you will need it.”
Sunbeam shouted, “Why should I believe you!” Shockwave however interjected saying, “Trust me, hes not lying. Or he would have killed you. Who is he anyways?”
Spikes laughed, “I tried to kill both of them not long ago, but an old man killed me named Vamura. After Sunbeam as you call yourself, killed me the last time, the Crawler said I wasn’t worth his time anymore. I almost went to the grave completely, but Vamura called me back to this world but with a condition, to turn on my old master. I will protect Lily if you would like, if she dies, I will die anyways. My fate is linked to hers, but hers is not linked to mine.”
Shockwave looked at Sunbeam and said, “I will stay with her to protect her.”
Spikes laughed, “He will need you for this mission. Now go both of you, or do you want her to die, she has fifty minutes left.”
Sunbeam asked, “Why should I trust you, and how do I know your not lying and even more so where is the enemy.”
Spikes shrugged, “Its up to you if you want to trust me, but, Lily’s attacker has a seal of a serpent on him. Shockwave grabbed Sunbeam and said, “You are wasting time. Get going!”
Sunbeam shrugged, “Very well, guard the door to this building. Shockwave nodded, I will. I have feelings for her too you know. And no I will not do anything to her.”
Sunbeam growled, “You better not, or else!”
Shockwave laughed, “Don’t worry, she would probably hate me if I did anyways. The time isn’t right anyhow.”
Sunbeam ran out the door and Spikes whistled, “He is doomed just like the girl. But whatever...”
Shockwave glared at him saying, “You planning something?” Spikes replied, “No, but I hear something nearby… oh great its the crawler’s undead minions… but rest assured, its only their bodies that have been brought to life. Nothing more, nothing less...”
Shockwave replied, “Bolt the door now!”
Spikes did so and said, “Good luck to you, you will need it.”
Shockwave laughed, “You are here too aren’t you?”
Spikes shrugged, “Yes but, I don’t have enough strength to do much. The reason I no longer work for the Crawler is because I failed a mission, and now they want me dead just like the girl.”
Lily meanwhile was flooded with memories of her childhood.
A boy came up to her saying, “You are cute.”
She was five at the time and smiled at him. They were in a classroom at the time so when he was overheard. Other classmates laughed at the boy making jokes about his feelings. Lily remembered how she became angry and looked away from him giving an irritated glare at the ones laughing. One of the classmates punched her at this saying, “Don’t look at me that way. Its not my fault hes a desperate kid.”
This was during recess and at that time, a teacher grabbed the kid’s hand saying, “Go take a much needed timeout!” The boy laughed saying, “What, I was just...”
But after the teacher glaring, everyone went away, except Lily who had nothing but compassion for him. Sunbeam she remembered wore a fur coat and said, “Thank… you… for...”
Lily put her arm around him saying, “I am sorry, its my fault you got hurt.”
She began to weep and weep. Sunbeam replied, “I love your dress and thanks for being so kind.”
Lily back then remembered laughing saying, “My parents forced me to wear it, but I am glad it least it brings you pleasure.”
Lily then realized that the same boy she had spoken to was in fact Sunbeam when he was a younger boy. This however was before she had been forceably moved away to a different town.
She remembered crying dearly as Sunbeam tried to follow but was vastly outran. Then she remembered that after that moment, her parents began to make her more miserable than ever before. She tried to escape many times, each time she was punished with beatings, until finally on the last time they destroyed something irreplaceable… Sunbeam had given Lily his sweater,
This drove Lily to hate her parents so much that she cried out with bitter tears. She attempted to knock some sense into them enraged by this, but her parents with a flick of their fingers knocked her out. She stayed asleep for several days and when she woke up, she had thought that surely he would hate her if he ever found out about this…
She felt worthless during that time and then thoughts flooded her mind in the dream of hopelessness. She also remembered wanting to find Sunbeam but being afraid he had forgotten about her.
A few days later following this, Lily remembered her parents did something to her. Which she now realized was her memories of Sunbeam being wiped.
She began to whimper in this nightmare. Shockwave was unnerved also by her saying, “Please… don’t… Go… Sun...beam… It’s a… Trap...”
Shockwave knew then that he had no chance of having her as his mate. Shockwave wept bitterly saying, “Damnit… what is it that makes her love him so...”
Sunbeam paused for a moment almost as if he felt something within Lily touch him but he kept moving knowing that time was short.
Then he got to a dark alley and was surrounded by two men on each side.
Sunbeam glared at them and slammed into one of them knocking him to the ground. However much to his surprise, when he knocked the man over, it was revealed he was a puppet. The puppet suddenly began to disassemble and a voice said, “Let’s see if you are ready for a real fight!”
Sunbeam looked above angrily seeing a person top of the roof with silver eyes with his whole body covered by a cloak with the exception of his head.
Sunbeam jumped up to slam into the person of the roof revealing that this was also a puppet.
The person controlling the puppet laughed, “You have sealed your fate.”
Sunbeam suddenly looked around and saw all the puppets began to disassemble releasing toxic nerve gas into the air. Sunbeam tried to hold his breath, but the person speaking amused laughed, “This is of no help to you… this poison enters anything it touches!”
Sunbeam suddenly unleashed fire all around himself but this only made the toxic gas expand. Sunbeam coughed, “Who are you...”
Then a grayish creature sneered, “I don’t have a name… Nor do you soon...”
Sunbeam’s eyes began to blur and he said, “Why… Are you...”
The no-name figure laughed, “Well I expected better from you...”
Sunbeam all of a sudden screamed in frustration, “NEVER!”
The no-name figure suddenly watched one of Sunbeam’s eyes turn completely blue. Sunbeam got up and jumped into the air fueled by his anger.
“So you are determined to die then, fine!”
Sunbeam however suddenly slammed his fist into each puppet in turn causing them to burn into smolders.
Then Sunbeam grabbed a man seemingly out of nowhere saying, “WHO are YOU!”
“I am just a simple puppeteer, my name is Graves, but I should tell you, by the time you find the real me, I will be gone! I will tell you what, meet me at the Lightning Kingdom if you want to really kill me!”
Sunbeam caused the man’s hands to burn saying, “YOU’RE FINISHED!”
Graves laughed, “Not so fast you silly child, I told you… this isn’t me, but since you insist, here’s a PRESENT!”
Sunbeam suddenly jumped away from Graves sensing he was about to explode.
Graves laughed, “Sorry too little, too LATE!”
Sunbeam surrounded himself with a barrier of flames at the last second.
The explosion broke through this however and caused him to begin to fall rapidly towards the ground.
Lily awoke as if in a dream and got up much to Shockwave’s surprise and despite his warnings of her health, she ran to where she thought Sunbeam was in the dream. Lily for some reason looked up and saw Sunbeam. Her mouth opened in terror and quickly she made a net of vines at the last second just as Sunbeam was about to die due to the force of the air. She also noticed he had been poisoned and began to heal him of the poison. Sunbeam’s eyes felt heavy and he whimpered, “Li...ly…help!” Lily whispered softly, “I am trying, but this poison is very powerful.”
Shockwave suddenly drew a bolt of lightning but Sunbeam cried out, “Wait!”
Shockwave momentarily was distracted saying, “What?”
Lily cried out, “But he tried to kill both of us!”
Sunbeam shook his head, “I looked into his eyes and saw something, he is a very tragic person. I can see his heart right now, he is lost.”
Graves overheard this threw one of his puppets and he laughed. They saw a body of Graves approach them and he said, “You still don’t get it, I am who I want to be! You are the first person to actually give a damn about me. So I will give you my antidote merely because your amusing to me.”
Graves landed on the ground and set the antidote down.
Lily shouted, “I don’t trust you! Your antidote is probably a death sentence to my beloved!”
Graves sneered, “I don’t really care what you think, its your call, take it or leave it. He will die without it anyways.”
Morning began to dawn and they could clearly see Graves body. He was a grayish skinned person with silver eyes. He sneered, “Stay out of my way you three fools, or I will kill you next time!”
Lily glared at him saying, “What is real name! I know that isn’t it!”
The man laughed, “I told you already! Graves! Remember that name, I will allow you three to live for now, but next time we meet, who knows...!”
Sunbeam slowly got up out of the net and as he did so Lily noticed he wasn’t even conscious.
Graves sneered, “You seem to hate to give up, I would love to spend more time on you, but my master has more important plans then me killing some worthless losers!” Lily however suddenly opened her mouth and sent a jet of green light which struck the puppeteer in the forehead... or so she thought!”
Graves laughed, “I have many puppets nearby, but they cannot compare to the power of the bodies I have just harvested for that same purpose…”
Sunbeam moving slowly somehow found his way to the antidote and drank it.
Then suddenly he began to pass out much to Lily beginning to cry. Shockwave sent a jet of lightning at Graves’ body but much to his surprise the blast was neutralized by what appeared to be a hidden barrier.
Graves smiled, “I wouldn’t if I were you, I don’t take kindly to those who attack my creations!”
Then suddenly Graves screamed and Lily noticed something, a mark of a skull on Graves’ forehead began to turn from gray to purple. “I am sorry master! I will stop fooling around, please spare me!”
Then Lily saw a dimensional portal open up and a claw grab him out of the air squeezing Graves to death.
Lily spat, “Good riddance… to that awful wretch.”
At least that’s what she thought, in reality she couldn’t have been more wrong… this she would find out was only the beginning of the trouble of Graves...
Sunbeam awoke later to concerned misty green eyes looking at him.
Lily gave him a hug as he got up saying, “Thank god your alive!”
Spikes said something under his breath, “oh well, maybe next time.”
Shockwave sent a jolt of lightning at Spikes who narrowly dodged saying, “What was THAT!”
Spikes gave a feeble reply, “nothing...”
Lily looked at Spikes saying, “Signal Vamura then if you don’t mean what you said.”
Spikes gave a sigh of relief saying, “Very well… although I am surprised I haven’t detected the crawlers men yet… It is a bit odd.”
Shockwave asked, “why did you want us to spare Graves anyways? Do you even know about his history, I was told he has killed over a thousand people!”
Sunbeam wept at this saying, “Yes… but for some reason, I percieved why he is doing this!”
Shockwave asked, “Why does that matter? HE is EVIL!”
Lily said nothing and Sunbeam sighed, “I know he is, but I cannot allow myself to kill him. I must defeat him somehow and save him from whatever is making him want to do this!”
Lily was takenaback but Shockwave scoffed at this saying, “You are too soft, you will die if you face him again! Do you not realize the power of his poison? He could easily wipe you out no matter how prepared you are!”
Lily suddenly remembered something, “Oh Sunbeam, I almost forgot to mention...”
Sunbeam asked, “What?”
Then Sunbeam coughed up blood and Lily sighed, “Its hard to inject myself into your body to heal the poison, you are fortunate I even knew how to do this, but I used a type of wood to inject myself into you, to absorb the poison. But there was a cost sadly...”
Sunbeam cried out, “I need… heat...”
Sunbeam began to notice he was shivering and that he was very close to dying.
Shockwave sighed, “Well I guess I have no choice… Lily use your abilities to cover him with something flammable. I will light him on fire.”
Lily quivered a bit saying, “That sounds dangerous… but I guess we have no choice...”
Shockwave put his hand on his face in exaspperation saying, “DO it or your boyfriend will die!”
Lily resisted the urge to punch Shockwave and caused a bunch of vines to sprout from her body and cover Sunbeam. She sighed, “This is going to put me to sleep, because he is in dire trouble.”
Shockwave shook his head, “You should have warned him sooner.”
Lily shrugged, “Yes, he can be a hothead sometimes. But he is my hothead.”
Shockwave asked, “You do mean, he thinks he’s invincible right?”
Lily sighed, “Unfourantely yes...” Lily severed herself from the vines after he was completely covered and Shockwave sent a jolt of lightning into the midst of this and ignited it on fire.
Slasher a man in silver armor showed up around this time and saw a body burning five minutes in and percieved they did this.
He shouted, “What the hell are you doing!”
They were about to speak but Slasher said, “Don’t even speak, you are all...”
Sunbeam slowly got up in the fire and Slasher froze stunned by what he was seeing. Sunbeam asked, “What is wrong?”
Slasher asked, “You were being burned to death weren’t you? How are you still alive?”
Sunbeam however replied, “My body is a bit odd, when the poison Graves infected me with was removed, my blood was also removed a lot. My body makes blood by aid of heat. If I am ever low on blood, this is how I regenerate it.”
Slasher puzzled asked, “What are you even going on about?”
Sunbeam shrugged, “I cannot explain it either, apart from my mother and father each being descendants of different kingdoms.
Slasher became alarmed saying, “So you have Darkian and Lightian Blood?”
Sunbeam sighed, “Yeah, seems like that.”
Slasher asked, “Does the king know this, usually its against the rules of our Kingdom to allow people like you in. Lily became enraged, “Why is that?”
Slasher gave a look of sorrow saying, “It isn’t to be cruel, its more about the curse which all darkians have upon them. I pray you never have to learn the horrors of it, there are others in the Kingdom who have the same issue, but they are watched carefully, so they don’t hurt those they love or themselves for that matter… let us just say, it is like having a monster within you...”
Spikes seemed to weep at this saying, “I have such a curse myself...
Slasher however percieved what he was doing and shook his fist saying, “Wipe that sarcastic grin and get on board! Alright?”
Lily glared at Spikes who looked away sneering rather smug about his joke.
“We are going home now!” Slasher replied and a portal teleported them into Sparkwave’s laboratory. Sunbeam asked, “Wait isn’t this dangerous? Couldn’t your enemies teleport within here?”
Slasher laughed, “don’t worry, only our portals can connect here without anything funny happening. Let us just say certain protocols for portals are blacklisted, meaning they do not work. We very quickly learn how to block new ones with a state of the art advanced simulator. No one has ever broken our code before, except well… Nightmare. But even then we have people watching to block any attempts should he bypass our code for some reason.”
Shockwave smirked, “I doubt he thought that far ahead.”
Lily sighed, “Shockwave, could you please just be quiet...”
Slasher nodded thoughtfully ignoring their dispute saying, “All that being said,
the way you and Lily got in here is an exception to this rule, because we still haven’t figured out this particular portal… not that Nightmare has figured it out either.”
“Why wouldn’t either Nightmare or the Lightning Kingdom have figured this out?”
Sunbeam said this but Slasher replied, “Because, this portal is believed to be made of alien technology many millions of years before us at level of complexity that still is many thousands of years ahead of us. Not even the Inferno King Kabimosu would have known how to figure it out, and he was the most brilliant King of all time!”
Shockwave laughed, “Wasn’t he also the inferno king who ruled the least time? Because he was such a failure?”
“Kabimosu was also kidnapped and killed. He was the only one to want to make peace with the Lightning Kingdom so that doesn’t surprise me one bit… His own men were said to have killed him for this reason...”
Slasher said dryly before saying, “okay, we shall meet up with Sparkwave once you rested up, we shall also heal your wounds and give you some new armor and robes.”
Lily, Sunbeam and Shockwave each went to their rooms and went to sleep…
Slasher meanwhile spoke to Sparkwave saying, “My King, must we really test them this way?”
Sparkwave sighed, “There is no other option, keep in mind, we may have to...”
Slasher nodded sadly saying, “Yes… I know, but please leave me out of this if it comes to that… Haruna wouldn’t want me to...”
Sparkwave replied, “Maybe… I will just have to see...” Slasher sighed before taking off his heavy armor off revealing his robes and his soft skin on his face.
Lily and Sunbeam meanwhile exchanged looks saying, “I love you.”
Then without another thought they turned and went to their respective rooms and began to sleep for it was past midnight.
