“A long time ago there existed two very different kingdoms, the Inferno Kingdom and the Lightning Kingdom. The Inferno Kingdom and the Lightning Kingdom were constantly at odds, once was of peace and one was of neverending war. This happened for five thousand years, each king temporarily getting the upperhand and claming victory but then getting overthrown later, until a particularly powerful king came to power. The thirteenth king of the Inferno Kingdom, Infernite came to power one day and he absolutely hated the Lightning Kingdom... However, like many rulers of the Inferno Kingdom before him, he thought he was powerful enough to take over the world. Voltnar the newest King of the Lightning Kingdom was close to being overpowered many times, and he knew if he died, his friends would die too as well as the world he was trying to change. Thus before he was set to die on his death bed, he gave some of his powers away to someone trustworthy, to prevent a calamity. Thus the Inferno Kingdom became enraged and sought to kill the new King… But he could not and the Inferno Kingdom was laid waste to, but before this, the Inferno Kingdom King died, he too instructed one of his most faithful servants to take hold of his power. The same thing happened to him as well and this servant became very powerful indeed. Many thousands of years passed however with no sign of war from him until, he disappeared mysteriously. Thus the Inferno Kingdom died a slow death but around this time, A new Kingdom arose called the Darkian Kingdom.
This new Kingdom though physcially weaker than the Inferno Kingdom, was far more cunning and its current ruler is Zulant. He is a cruel tyrant and even some of his people though they seem to support him, in secret, they hate him. Moreover, they are forbidden to leave the Kingdom without a spell being put on them. Also, be warned that, there have been rumors circulating that a descendant of the Inferno Kingdom is alive and intends to wreak his vengance on the Lightning Kingdom. Some think its Nightmare, and others think its someone else.
Skull finished telling the tale as they stood between two rock formations and said, “We are in the middle of the two so called gateways to these Kingdoms. Remember this well...”
Ziona yawned at this and Moonlight put her hand on Ziona’s back sending a warning to Ziona to be respectful.
Sunbeam said nothing stunned and Skull replied, “Just remember, do not visit here without me or your mother, rumor has it this place has evil lurking around. The evil that lurks around however will not go after people as a group though unless wisdom is lacking. I forbid either of you to come here without us, especially alone!”
Ziona laughed but Moonlight sent a warning into Ziona which caused her to flinch momentarily. “jeez mom, can’t you be more nice about this?”
Moonlight sighed, “This is serious Ziona, we are telling you about this, because we have reason to believe the future may involve both of you fighting against this great evil someday...”
Sunbeam stunned asked, “Why is that?”
Ziona replied, “I don’t know, but you wouldn’t be much use at all.”
Moonlight became angry saying, “That is enough young lady!”
Sunbeam whispered something about Ziona not being much of a lady, and Skull replied, “Perhaps, but pointing that out the way you did is a sign of immaturity. Remember that if you ever want a mate.”
Sunbeam thought about it and it just went in one ear and out the other.
They left the mountain shrine and all went home.
Ziona and Sunbeam dispersed after Moonlight and Skull told them to play outside.
Not long after that they could be faintly heard laughing and Ziona shook her head, “You do know what they are doing right?”
Ziona glared at him when with her cold piercing blue eyes, and said, “you do know don’t you?” Ziona was very beautiful but people avoided her because of her attitude.
Sunbeam asked, “What?” Ziona laughed scornfully, “You are a teenager, you should bloody know they making love… Not that you will ever find any love.”
Sunbeam slapped Ziona across the face and ran past her before she could retaliate saying, “That is what you think!” Ziona yawned thinking, “Whatever…” then She proceeded to nap outside laying flat on the grass.
Sunbeam, more out of curiosity than anything, ran straight and stopped and saw a pretty girl with peaceful misty green eyes with slender legs and long flowing orange hair sitting down on the ground reading. Sunbeam smiled and she looked up and their eyes met. Sunbeam asked, “Lily can I talk to you?” Lily’s eyes met his and a look of terror came on her face. Though she didn’t tell him at this moment, Lily thought he looked handsome.
But due to her past experiences, she was afraid of even feeling love and ran off into an empty field. Sunbeam followed close behind her not completely understanding why but he felt he had to follow her. Sunbeam called out, “Please don’t run. I just want to talk to you.” She slowed down and demanded,
“Okay fine, What do you want!”
Sunbeam was taken-aback and blushed. Lily upon seeing this became very nervous and cowered in fear saying, “Please go away!”
Sunbeam put his head down and walked away sadly. Then some boys walked toward Lily knocking Sunbeam down as they passed by. Lily screamed as Sunbeam fell down to the ground. The boys smirked saying, “Okay miss happy, you have no right to be happy! people like you deserve to suffer!… we gonna teach you a lesson! Got it!”
Sunbeam got up slowly hearing this and ran behind them just as they got in range of Lily he slammed into one of them.
One of the boys with bright red eyes noticed this and said, “So you want to defend this loser huh? Trying to play the hero eh?”
The boys surrounded Sunbeam and two of them restrained him while the other two began to punch him. All the while saying things like, “Take this you loser!” and also, “You must really love that loser!” and they were violent to the point where they slammed him against a few trees nearby. Sunbeam spat out some blood and he crumpled on the ground. Lily screamed, “let him go Spikes you jerk!”
Spikes laughed saying, “never and he doesn’t seem to want to run anyways… I can tell by his face… or haven’t you looked at him.” Lily stared at Sunbeam’s face and saw he was both frightened and angry. Though she could tell the anger wasn’t on her for when he looked into her eyes his gaze softened.
Lily cried out, “Please run for it!” Sunbeam however ignored this and got up his nerve and began to fight back. Spikes sneered, “This brat isn’t worth my time. Sunbeam lunged at one of the boys with his foot but this was a dreadful mistake.
Sunbeam took a blow to his face his nose bleeding vigorously from the punch.
Spikes and his friends took their time giving him every form of torment they could think of. Lily watched in horror as Sunbeam was twisted in positions she didn’t even know where possible. Lily finally got up the courage and threw a rock at one of the boys. Spikes growled to his friends, “He is done for, let’s just kill her now.”
Lily grabbed some rocks and tried throwing them at the boys. Spikes, however suddenly did the unthinkable and pointed his palm at her. The other boys gasped for they knew he had magic abilities in that palm. He sent the barrage of rocks back at Lily.
Lily fell to the ground and the boys grabbed her and Spikes laughed, “Time to...”
Then Spikes and his friends froze. An old man spoke, “Be still and know you have made your final mistake.” The old man passed by like lightning without anyone seeing him do anything, then it happened...
Spikes suddenly fell to the ground dead like someone had sliced him. Blood trickled down his face and the other boys ran. “I am Vamura. I hope those impudent fools didn’t hurt you.” Moonlight ran up calling, “Sunbeam where are you...” Then she paused asking, “Have you seen Sunbeam? I sensed danger! Where is he?” Suddenly she saw, Sunbeam lying on the ground, his face bloody. A young looking girl was lying beside him. She was as still as death.
Moonlight began to weep but Vamura said softly, “They are not dead yet. One of them is a Flora and the other is a Flare. They have stronger healing and durability then most people. But you do need to begin your healing immediately.
Sunbeam slowly awoke as he was being healed and they gasped when they saw Spikes on the ground. Moonlight asked, “Your name is Vamura but who are you?” Lily said, “I don’t know who he is either, but he saved my life. As well as Sunbeam’s”
Sunbeam replied, “Thank you for saving us. I owe you a great debt.”
Vamura nodded, “It is of no matter, but you should know something.”
Moonlight passed her hands over Sunbeam and Lily saying, “Your fears should be quieted and your health should be back to normal. Please don’t get into such a terrible situation again. For anything...”
Sunbeam nodded slowly before asking Vamura, “Why did they do this?”
Vamura replied, “Spikes, of his own choice, has joined up with the Crawler... The boys with them tried to kill Lily and Sunbeam got in the way. They were following orders from Spikes who wanted Lily to be submissive to him. She refused and was harmed and Sunbeam too because he got in the way.
Spikes and Crawler are probably doing this for their own evil ends, but someone put them up to this… Someone extremely evil. This someone is rumored to have the power to distort reality itself and there are those who want to release these creatures to become like them to claim absolute power. This of course is foolishness because they will lose their humanity and free will completely and totally if such a force is released.” Sunbeam asked, “How would you know this? And how can this be?”
Vamura smiled, “I have been around for a very long time and am a descendant of a very rare race which can live for a million years at least. We the Vamurians can live to be potentially immortal if no one tries to kill us. If you would like proof let me take off my mask.”
Vamura slowly much to their surprise took off his mask revealing that he had no skin underneath and no face. Moonlight gasped saying, “So it is true, you are a Vamurian, I haven’t seen one of them since the time one visited my parents before they vanished...” Vamura looked at her sadly saying, “I am the Vamurian you knew.”
Moonlight stunned was quiet for a moment.
Lily regained her full strength but was dazed, saying, “Wha...”
Sunbeam replied, “It is okay, I think...”
Moonlight shouted, “It is not okay! You almost died! and I don’t want to lose another…”
Sunbeam asked, “Wait you mean Ziona is...?”
Moonlight said nothing and wept for reasons Sunbeam had not yet learned.
Sunbeam became sad wondering what had happened to his sister. Vamura smiled at them before saying, “It is time we left this place and returned to our homes. But beware, Some people you think you know may not be who you think you know, either now or later...”
Vamura’s eyes sent a chill of blue light which knocked them unconscious.
Later that night, Moonlight, Sunbeam and Lily awakened as if from a dream… with a few exceptions, they could see the scars and remembered what caused their pain...
Moonlight upon waking up, checked Sunbeam and examined him. She froze for a moment then went to find Skull.
Skull asked, “My dear what is the problem?”
Moonlight replied, “I am afraid he has inhertited your former negative gene from your past...”
Skull sighed, “You mean our son who had abruptly left? You mean Za---”
Moonlight interrupted saying, “In case our son is awake, we shouldn’t say anything… I have my suspicions regarding them both…”
Skull sighed “yes… I fear they have both fallen into darkness.”
Moonlight wept saying, “Exactly...”
Moonlight though added, “Regardless, I wonder why he did leave… he always seemed to be a peaceful happy child. It’s so odd. We barely had our second child before he too, disappeared from us... what is it that made him and the other one run away? I don’t understand…” Skull shook his head, “I doubt we will ever have the answer. But as for our youngest Sunbeam...”
Moonlight laughed, “He takes after you my beloved.” Skull gave a quick peck on her mouth and smiled.
Moonlight however became serious saying, “But I saw something in his eyes one day. You know how I sometimes get visions from the Light?”
Skull nodded and Moonlight began to cry sadly…
Skull replied, “Is it that bad?”
Moonlight sobbed, “He is going to go through more than we could ever imagine. I also don’t know what to expect...”
Skull laughed, “I am sure he will have an awesome future.”
Moonlight replied, “How would you know though? You can’t...”
Skull interrupted, “I know you are worried about that girl... but she is very much like you. My concern is more about the opposition within our world against the innocent. Ziona however on the other hand has always has been a hothead even more so than Sunbeam, I really hope she will change for the better...” Moonlight wept into Skull’s arms at the name of her daughter. Skull replied, “I believe she is still alive. And I think you do too…” Moonlight sighed, “I miss our first, and those who perished... but yes, that’s what concerns me… Ziona’s future though is grim I fear...” Sunbeam meanwhile had gotten up to talk to his mother Moonlight but had stayed silent when he heard this discussion…
when he heard everything he knew he had to back away slowly... especially the part about him having not one but two brothers in darkness. But the possibility of a challenging future... He then crept away before his parents could notice.
Skull smiled at Moonlight saying, “When you cry it is like an angel is crying.”
Moonlight looked up at Skull for a moment tears in her eyes saying, “Thank you, but at this moment...” Skull nodded in understanding. They embraced with a kiss before leaving to their bedroom to sleep.
A year passed and, Sunbeam dreamt of a lady kissing him and he felt warm all over. He looked into the lady’s eyes and she looked reminiscient of someone he knew. The lady stopped kissing him and said, “I love you Sunbeam.” And she held his hand and began to giggle. Sunbeam flushed and he noticed that she looked almost like an older version of that girl he had a crush on. Then even more strangely, he noticed something else in particular... But then the dream ended and when he woke up he felt sad for it had only been a dream. Sunbeam went outside and headed towards Lily’s neighborhood but saw a poster attached to a signpost. He moved closer to see what it said and when he saw it he followed the directions. An annoucement had been given for those who wanted to, a new tournament was happening soon and it was a competition to see who is the strongest... Sunbeam wanted to get stronger.
Sunbeam he took a shortcut even knowing his parents said never enter the forest alone. Unbeknownst to him, the girl in the dreams was also disobeying her parents and slipped out of the house and was walking in the forest. Sunbeam became aware of a familiar voice and recognized it as belonging to Spikes one of Lily’s attackers.
Spikes sneered, “Well if it isn’t the loser who tried to protect that girl. Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is, she isn’t worth my time anymore… The bad news is, you are my new victim!”
Sunbeam glared at him angrily saying, “She has a name!”
Lily was nearby and heard Sunbeam’s voice but was frightened and hid because she still didn’t trust boys. She feared that even Sunbeam only wanted her for pleasure and that this was just an act in case she was nearby.
Spikes lunged at Sunbeam who barely dodged falling over. Spikes used his powerful hand slamming into a tree in an effort to have the tree fall on Sunbeam. Instead the tree narrowly missed hitting Lily. She screamed and Sunbeam looked up startled but couldn’t see her through the tree branches. Spikes grabbed Sunbeam by the throat in the confusion with the intent of choking him to death.
Spikes cackled, “I am going to enjoy this.”
Lily picked up a large stone and getting close enough she threw it at Spikes.
Spikes flinched and momentarily let go of Sunbeam. Spikes turned around and saw Lily and became enraged, “Well now, you stupid girl, you have signed your own death warrant!”
Sunbeam slowly got to his feet and sat down gathering himself. Spikes sent a jet of blue light at Lily. Lily got out of the way and opened her mouth shooting seeds at Spikes.
Spikes snapped his fingers on his magic hand and caused the tree to grow branches which blocked her movement. Spikes turned around and Sunbeam had not only gotten up, but he slammed into Spikes.
Spikes cringed falling over backwards. Sunbeam breathing hard and with fierce anger cried out, “This is for Lily!”
He slammed into Spikes at full speed knocking him over to the ground.
Spikes attempted to grab him with the magic arm, but Sunbeam ripped that off with great fury. Spikes grimaced at this wondering, “How is he doing this?”
Sunbeam grabbed Spikes and charged with him and slammed him into a nearby tree.
Spikes cackled as he fell spitting out blood saying, “I will be back… rest assured… still I guess even a loser like you can become… stronger...”
Spikes body turned into dust and Sunbeam winced at what he had done to him.
Lily whimpered for help and Sunbeam ran over staggering slightly as he did so. He felt fatigued but nonetheless, he began to rip apart the branches. Lily smiled at him whimpering a “thank you.”
She slowly started trying to walk away but she winced falling to the ground Sunbeam catching her.
Lily suddenly felt very nervous for the last time a boy touched her, he tried to get at her breasts.
Sunbeam looked at her saying, “Where would you like me to take you?”
Lily thought, “Is he seriously trying to be good to me? Doesn’t he know that I am from a wealthy family and if he so much as touches me he could get himself hurt?”
Sunbeam asked, “Something wrong Lily?”
Lily sighed, “I have to get back quickly, my parents don’t know I am here and I don’t want them to discover that I disobeyed them.”
Sunbeam asked, “How long have you been here?”
Lily replied, “way too long so I gotta go soon before they get back.”
She slowly got to her feet and said, “Thank you for fighting for me, you seem like a nice boy.” Lily bowed and then ran towards her home leaving Sunbeam momentarily stunned by her beauty. Sunbeam ran ahead towards the tournament and it was around this time, that he saw Ziona strode out of the gates. She sighed, “No challenge, what more could I expect, these weaklings are so weak, my brother could defeat them.”
Sunbeam stunned asked, “Ziona? YOUR ALIVE?”
Ziona rolled her eyes, “yeah… I just took a break that’s all. See you home my loser brother. Even you could beat these weaklings but whatever.”
Sunbeam ignored this and entered the battlegrounds but it was all over already and the announcer replied, “Your a bit late, Ziona is our champion. The odd thing is she didn’t even go into Zament’s cave...”
Sunbeam put his head down and asked, “When is the next one?”
The announcer and the other staff laughed saying, “next year kid. But you look weak, I suggest giving up on doing anything worthwhile in life hah.”
Sunbeam glared at them and said, “I Will be champion someday, mark my words!”
The staff laughed, and the announcer asked, “What is your name kid? You seem like you have guts at least.”
“my name is Sunbeam!”
The Announcer laughed, “Well if you want to get stronger, I know a dojo master who could train you if your interested, but you must go for a month. Be aware though the trip may be hard. Danger lurks around every corner… and remember, never sleep or you will become a ghost.”
Sunbeam asked, “I Will die?”
The announcer sighed, “No, you will become a ghost like one of Zament’s ghosts. Have you never heard of Zament the ghost king? He is legendary for his cruelty and once a year he steals peoples souls and the body is replaced with a soul that matches his. So don’t go to sleep if you don’t want that!”
Sunbeam flinched and said, “Where is this master again?”
The man pointed and Sunbeam replied, “Thanks!”
One of the announcer’s friends laughed after he left, “We won’t see that loser again… kids should never go there for they will be taken over! I doubt he knows this fact!”
The announcer chuckled saying, “nah he should have realized by now we were mocking him. I mean surely he wouldn’t want to die like a dog?” Then they all laughed and prepared to pack up and leave.
Moonlight however for some reason became alarmed where she was and said, “I sense our son is in danger!” Skull sighed, “Please tell me he didn’t see that sign today...” Moonlight asked, “What sign?”
Skull’s eyes met hers and said, “The sign for that tournament… Those people are nasty brutes.”
Moonlight shook her head, “But what’s bad about that tournament?”
Skull replied, “In order to enter this tournament, you usually need to go through Zament’s cave and be taught…”
Moonlight’s face turned pale and she shouted, “why are you so calm then?”
Skull’s eyes watered slightly for the first time in many years as he said, “Because, he and Ziona no doubt saw the same sign and are entering as we speak and once you enter, you cannot turn back till you win or die.”
Moonlight turned on Skull with such anger but then at his expression, she began to cry. They both went outside and grimaced as they saw a young girl with blood stains on her face.
Lily asked, “What’s wrong?”
Moonlight shocked asked, “Who did that to you?”
Lily sighed, “nevermind that, you both seem like your in a lot of pain.”
Skull sighed, “our son Sunbeam, is entering Zament’s cave as we speak and...”
Lily’s heart sunk and she shouted sarcastically, “what! Why doesn’t he just go to Zakuma’s doorway!” Then she added, “I gotta stop him!”
Skull replied, “He isn’t going to listen, so please follow and protect him if you can.”
Lily sighed nodding and said, “He is a handful I bet, nevertheless, he has a good heart. Okay I will help. I have learned some new abilities anyhow since a year ago. So I should be fine.”
Moonlight looked up sadly saying, “its too dangerous! Please don’t, we should go!”
Lily replied, “I am sure you two are far more powerful than I, but I have this feeling in my heart that I must go.”
Moonlight suddenly stopped and felt Lily was telling the truth but said, “Take my amulet, if you don’t, you have no hope at all!”
Moonlight handed her the amulet and Lily was given directions to Zament’s cave and ran towards the place not knowing what was coming next.
Sunbeam slowly headed towards the first gate to the mountain and saw Ziona had just opened the gate. Ziona laughed, “So you are here too, whatever, don’t bother… unless you want to die. You are not strong enough after all dear brother.”
Sunbeam ran towards the gate and Ziona slammed it shut in his face. Sunbeam cursed as he spat blood as the metal gate slammed in his face. “that was mean!” Sunbeam shouted and Ziona laughed, “whatever… fine you can come if you want, just don’t expect to live long.”
Ziona laughed, “You seem somewhat different, almost as if...”
She sneered, “nah, you couldn’t possibly have a girlfriend yet. You still are a loser after all.”
Sunbeam sighed, “Are you sure we are related...”
Ziona shrugged, “I wonder that same thing constantly.”
The more they walked, the darker the sky seemed to get.
An hour later Ziona stopped saying, “I think we are being followed...”
But Sunbeam said, “I don’t see anyone?”
Ziona however insisted, “I know someone is both watching us and following us.”
They began to argue until both of them folded their arms and stopped talking.
Then upon getting near the mountain, Sunbeam felt unrest and Ziona laughed, “Scared little brother?” At this time Sunbeam fought the fear he had and went inside. Then they were faced with a man with eyes like that of a serpent,
“Hello young travelers, my name is Makuza, care to fight? You won’t last if you can’t defeat feeble old me.” Ziona laughed, “You are so old and prunish, how can you even fight? What a waste of time, my brother could defeat you.”
Makuza suddenly moved like Lightning and Sunbeam just had time to block him from killing his sister. Then Makuza immediately vanished back to where he sat saying, “Still think I am too feeble?”
Sunbeam became cross with his sister saying, “Your arrogance could’ve caused your death.”
Makuza laughed, “You haven’t trained at all and you think you can come up here and visit the master of the house? Such arrogance… I will tell you what… I will give you a hint on how to defeat me since there is no way you can win… Strike me in the heart and I will temporarily die. It is the only way you can win.”
Ziona became puzzled saying, “Temporarily?” Makuza laughed, “I am tethered let us say to certain things...”
Sunbeam flinched at the idea of killing Makuza but Ziona replied, “Leave him to me...”
Sunbeam however stepped forward saying, “You almost died, I will not have that on my conscious.”
Ziona glared at him but said, “Fine, we will work together. I detest such a thing, but oh well.” Makuza again got up and vanished but this time Sunbeam punched with all his might slamming his fist into Makuza knocking him over. Makuza however got up and sent a jet of ice at Sunbeam freezing both of his legs.
Ziona smiled, “Very well, this could be fun.” “run Ziona!” Ziona charged Makuza who attempted the same thing on Ziona but this time she was ready and grabbed the ice energy in mid air and threw it back at Makuza. This caused the ice to become jagged and go right towards Makuza who gave a wicked grin as his heart was pierced from the inside out.
The ice on Sunbeam shattered at this moment and he grimaced for he saw some blood trickling out of his leg.
At this moment Lily entered the cave and looked at Sunbeam and was tempted to slap him for what she considered to be a suicidal mission.
She walked over to do just that but Ziona asked, “Who are you?”
Lily spoke, “I am Lily, what is your name?” Ziona sneered, “My name is Ziona, are you my brother’s girlfriend?”
Lily suddenly turned red saying, “no, no its not like that!” Sunbeam replied, “She isn’t my girlfriend, I mean… at the moment.”
Ziona snickered and both of them blushed in turn and said, “shut up Ziona!”
Ziona laughed, “You are both just as pathetic, but at least your consistent, I guess.”
Sunbeam spoke to Lily and asked, “What are you doing here anyways?”
Lily sighed, “besides giving you a good slapping for leaving on a mission that could’ve killed you, I am here to help and give you the amulet from your parents.” She put the amulet necklace around Sunbeam’s neck.
Sunbeam became nervous saying, “Thank you, Lily, you are cute as ever Even if you are scratched up.”
Lily looked away saying, “I am beginning to feel safe with you. I am grateful my main power is healing.”
Ziona sighed, “As touching as this is, we best be going.”
They stopped and saw a sign which said, “Those with hidden potential enter, but those who are weak, will die!”
Ziona laughed, “brother, I think you should stay back, you surely don’t have any potential...”
Lily ignored Ziona as did Sunbeam.
Ziona was becoming weary, jealous and bored being around the two lovebirds. She thought to herself, “My brother sure is lucky... when will I get my mate? Even if this girl is a loser, they seem to like each other. So dull being alone… Although, just looking at them, I feel like vomitting… its so sickening watching them engage with each other. I mean yuck...”
They headed up a spiralling staircase and went up flight after flight of stairways.
When they got to the top, there was a man blocking their passage to the other side of the bridge.
The man held a club and said, “You shall not pass!”
Then he looked carefully at them and laughed, “You are but children, why do you come up here?” Ziona sneered, “We are too old to be children.” Then she egged on the man by saying, “Bring it.”
Lily said, “Step aside Ziona, I wish to test my newest ability on this agressor.”
Ziona laughed and with sarcasm said, “Yeah sure, you will totally win against him and not die.”
Sunbeam sighed, “Sorry Lily, she is always like this.”
Lily shrugged and the man smiled saying, “You should pray first as this may be your last time on our beloved planet of Enxt. I am sorry, but I regret I must kill anyone who wishes to pass by order of my master. My name is Zantora.”
Lily replied, “We shall see.”
Zantora shouted, “But first… You two back up a lot and give us room to fight. Unless you wish to die also.”
Sunbeam replied, “Wait a minute Lily, are you sure you can handle him?”
Lily softly said, “Trust me please.”
Sunbeam slowly backed up saying, “okay I trust you.”
Ziona pretended to vomit at the cuteness but both Lily and Sunbeam paid no attention.
Lily pulled out a short sharp blade of grass. She poured her energy into it and it became thicker and almost a foot long like a whip.
Zantora smiled, “It is refreshing to see a Flora again. It has been a while since this has happened. Make this a fight worth remembering!”
The man drew a large thick wooden club and said, “This is made from wood known for being made into royal armor... Even your whip cannot break this. Good luck now!”
Lily charged Zantora who immediately went on the attack. Zantora slammed his huge club against the ground, the ripple effect knocking her to the ground almost losing her grip on the whip. Zantora moved in to strike Lily, but ducked as Lily caused the whip to extend to striking at his club causing it to break evenly in half and piercing through hitting Zantora in the chest. Lily quickly retracted the whip before Zantora could grab hold of it. Zantora was surprised for but a moment and he said, “Very well, I guess I need to use all my power. If I give up, my master will not be happy at all.”
Lily and Sunbeam watched in horror as Zantora’s eyes suddenly turned purple as if by some sort of unknown power and a purple beam surrounded Zantora and rose above him toward the sky. Then his body was covered in golden streaks as wings sprouted from his back and two additional arms shot forth from his chest. Zantora slowly began to rise upward to the sky hovering above them
Lily opened her mouth and shot a thousand seeds all in quick succession at him.
Zantora was evasive at first but Lily’s accuracy overcame his speed and he took a few hits. Zantora pointed his finger at Lily and the feathers on his wings stood up pointing outward.
Lily knew this meant nothing good was about to happen and she caused her arms to become wood temporarily. Ziona saw this and thought, “Hm.. she is full of surprises.”
Zantora laughed, “You won’t even...” Then Lily caused her wooden arms to slam into Zantora’s body almost knocking him out. Zantora however braced himself at the last second.
Zantora regained his composure in the air and caused his feathers on his wings to leave his body and Lily proceeded to block them with her wooden arms. Zantora suddenly dove preparing to strike her vitals at a fast accelerating speed. Lily slammed her left arm into Zantora as he dive-bombed but this time her arm was torn clear off. Lily winced and spat blood and narrowly ducked to avoid Zantora’s full dive-bomb. Zantora slammed into the ground and Lily with all her might slammed into Zantora with her right arm.
Zantora’s head was torn clear off him and his body crumped on the ground without his head.
Lily assumed he was finished and she stepped back for a moment and began the process of regenerating her missing arm. Lily turned around as her arm had regenerated and saw Zantora had regenerated his head but was beginning to get to his feet.
Zantora moved swiftly but as he got within striking distance he halted as if paralyzed.
Lily was relieved by this saying, “The seeds appear to be finally taking effect thus causing his body to decay.” Zantora began to chuckle and he said, “How did you…” Then he saw that there was a stem sticking out of his body. “Well, if you hadn’t planted that seed, I could come back, but since the plant is absorning my life force, you are ensured to win. Well fought!”
Zantora added, “I hope to see you again.”
“How is it that you and the others can stay alive after death?” Lily asked but Zantora replied, “Anyone who dies here, is forbidden to leave here until our master is killed which when that happens, we die too.”
Lily sighed, “That sounds like torture.” Zantora was very jovial saying, “Depends on your lifestyle and your approcach to life. Nevertheless, I am happy with it. Now go to your next challenge!”
Then Zantora’s entire body began to decay for his heart was being devoured.
Lily asked, “Why is this so needed?” Zantora laughed, “Soon you can ask my master…”
As she ate the seed she was instantly filled with a massive amount of energy.
Sunbeam saw the sparkle in Lily’s eyes and said, “Amazing… how did you become this strong?”
Lily smiled, “You haven’t seen anything yet.”
As Lily spoke to Sunbeam, she put her finger in her hair twirling it about before adding, “Let us be going.”
They start to cross the bridge but much to their surprise it began to wobble as they walked across. Sunbeam quivered a bit and paused looking down in terror.
Lily seemed to notice and said, “Look at me Sunbeam,”
Sunbeam looked at Lily and she said, “It will be okay, but we cannot stop for even a second.”
Ziona shrugged thinking, “So sappy… whatever, I guess.”
They got halfway, and they heard of a blade sawing against wood. Ziona immediately shouted, “RUN!” Sunbeam looked back and saw the bridge was just about to collapse and he cried out, “We aren’t gonna make it!” Lily’s hand formed a sturdy strong vine and stretched to the end of the bridge and she said, “GRAB ON!” Ziona and Sunbeam both grabbed on just as the bridge fell and Lily breathed a soft sigh of relief. Sunbeam looked down and saw a row of extremely sharp spikes below as sharp as needles but as big as boulders. Lily began to pull herself to the other side feeling like she was about to collapse from their weight. Then, just as they were close to getting the other side, the vine snapped and they began to fall. They began to fall but just as they were about to hit the spikes, multiple hands grabbed them seemingly out of another dimension. Lily looked up and saw Vamura and he looked at them with crystal clear eyes saying, “Welcome, this is my home, someone tried to kill you three on that bridge and no it wasn’t a test of mine.”
Ziona annoyed as usual folded her arms and said, “What in the hell is going on here? We could have died… explain yourself!”
“Ziona I will explain later, but for now though, you are alive and well it seems as are they... You have little time to rest though, your time will be short, but given what just happened you have extra time. That is all.”
Vamura folded his arms and giant wings sprouted from his arms and he flew away to a place higher up the mountain.
Ziona said nothing and began to walk in silent anger. Lily shrugged, “This place is odd, I wonder what is going on here...” Sunbeam shook his head saying, “We better follow her for the time being, or we may die.”
Ziona laughed saying, “Yes you probably would die. I see a spot where we can rest, it looks like a campsite. The more they followed Ziona, the darker the clouds got above. Then it began to storm and Ziona scowled saying, “Damnit… at least there is a cave nearby.” Lily sighed, “She certianly seems angry and what a foul mouth. Are you sure your related.”
Ziona ignored this comment saying, “are you coming or not you slowpokes!”
They exchanged annoyed looks and followed Ziona into the cave. The cave was dark and smelled completely putrid. Lily by this point noticed her clothes were wet and Ziona noticing this laughed, “You look terrible, but then why am I not surprised.”
Lily sobbed at this for she was wearing one of her favorites. Sunbeam however glared at Ziona and said, “you have been negative this whole time! Cant you stop doing that?!? stop being mean to her! I love her!”
Lily looked up and saw he truly meant it and said, “Sunbeam I...”
Then she stopped for a moment but said nothing. Sunbeam turned around caught off guard and said, “Are you okay Lily?”
Lily smiled saying, “Yes I am fine...”
Ziona sneered saying, “I will leave you two alone for a moment so you can take turns getting on top of each other. While I...”
Sunbeam and Lily both interrupted shouting, “ENOUGH ZIONA!”
After this they realized they spoke at the same time and had what seemed to be the same response.
Ziona laughed again saying, “I knew it..”
Then they all froze as a hissing voice said, “Welcome to my abode, get some rest and tomorrow I will have something to show you down below...”
They saw a small man with golden skin and eyes like a snakes staring at them.
He walked away not moments later through a solid wall. Sunbeam and Lily blinked and shivered somewhat and then they heard a loud noise and looked over and saw Ziona already asleep. “She certainly has nerves of steel to sleep here.”
Lily remarked and Sunbeam sighed, “One of these days that could get her killed you know...”
A huge roar echoed through the cave suddenly and Ziona yawned waking up irritated saying, “will you both let me sleep!”
Lily and Sunbeam both screamed, “That isn’t us!”
They all turned and saw a monstorous creature billowing out smoke into the whole cave. Ziona growled, “get back and I will kill this beast! I find any creature that tries to blind me detestable!”
Ziona suddenly pushed her palms outward in each direction and caused the smoke to vanish in both directions. The creature seemed to look like a huge hound with many razor sharp teeth. Before they could think, it suddenly exploded into thousands of little hounds with razor sharp teeth. They launched themselves on to the three of them and began to tear at their flesh.
Ziona scowled in irritation saying, “Leave me alone!”
She suddenly screamed and the creatures on her were froze enacasing each one of them in ice..
Ziona suddenly pointed her palms at the creatures on the other two saying, “Shimo!”
Then a cold burst of ice burst out of her body which froze Lily and Sunbeam’s body as well as all the mini hounds which in their case fell to the ground shattering on the ground.
Sunbeam’s body however began to thaw much to Ziona’s surprise and she thought, “Hmm… what is this I feel from my brother… Such an odd feeling.” Sunbeam touched Lily’s body and thawed it as well and Lily replied, “Thank you.” But then when Sunbeam remembered Ziona and thought, “I better be careful, she is getting stronger than I ever would have thought… I would hate to have her as an enemy.”
Sunbeam thought, “What is going on here? Do I have a power of fire?” A small voice spoke into him saying, “Not merely that, but that’s all you need to know for now. Your emotions can help you to control it, or to be controlled by it. So be very careful… Unless you want those you love to be killed by your own hands.”
Sunbeam’s face turned pale at this and Lily and Ziona exchanged looks. Lily observed, “You seem to have a new ability…” Ziona laughed, “Well maybe he isn’t completely weak, but you need practice, dear brother, or you won’t accomplish much.”
Sunbeam ignored her. “Look the rain has stopped, let’s get out of this smelly cave. As they emerged they were saw they were in an unfamiliar forest. Sunbeam asked, “Where are we?”
A beautiful woman appeared saying, “You are where you belong...” She approached Sunbeam in friendship, but he stepped back saying, “No I am not, who are you?”
Lily stared at Sunbeam irritated but then noticed something interesting, she thought to herself, “He doesn’t seem to be interested in her at all… I wonder why...”
Lily was jealous of the woman’s beauty. Sunbeam continued to ignore the woman and looked at Lily softly saying, “I suspect she isn’t who she claims to be. Stand back. I don’t want you to die.”
Ziona pretended to vomit and both of them regarded Ziona with disapproval.
Sunbeam drew his hand back as if he was holding a crossbow and was about to fire an arrow. Everything gasped as they saw a fiery arrow flew across and struck her head. Then suddenly her head seemed to shatter revealing that she had a mask on. Lily became alarmed and said, “What is that?”
They recoiled even more at the face that emerged at the broken mask.
Ziona shrugged, but even she was unnerved at the sight of this ugly hag of a creature standing before them.
The hag sneered, “so you knew, that I was going to tempt you away from her to the dark side. Be so kind as to tell me, how did you see through me.”
Sunbeam suddenly shouted, “My father has told me about your kind! You honor us with your lips, but your heart is so dark! He told me how to see through people like yourself. I also have the impression you have been watching me and Lily for sometime! You misjudged me greatly!”
The hag cackled saying, “Yes, it seems you have been taught of such things… but nevertheless, I will still have you as my slave!”
The hag moved like lightning and Sunbeam said, “Lily duck!” Lily did and as she did, Sunbeam breathed a volume of fire at the hag who was a mere inch within striking distance of Lily’s throat. The hag backed away from Lily who ran behind Sunbeam.. Sunbeam ran towards the witch preparing to silence her and Lily cried out, “Wait!” Ziona sighed aggravated knowing full well how easily Sunbeam’s anger could be his doom.
Sunbeam opened his mouth and fire began to form in his mouth which he sent directly at the hag. She cackled saying, “nice try… but desperate measures must be taken!” She put one of her hands near her head knocking it clean off. The fire passed right by her, starting a forest fire.
The hag just stood there with blood oozing on the ground from where her head was. The rest of the hag’s body vaporized before them. Ziona surprised said, “Well that was anticlimactic...” Lily however suddenly grabbed them both and said, “Watch out!”
The hag had regenerated the rest of her body from her head.
She immediately stopped the fire in the forest saying, “My home does not like fire!”
The hag pointed her finger at the blood on the ground and from the blood six huge chimeras erupted from the ground. Each chimera had sharp talons and rows of huge razor sharp teeth though no wings. Lily’s eyes opened wide as the hag said, “Enjoy them my pets...”
Sunbeam glared at the hag with fierce rage. The chimeras however had a glazed look on their faces and spit dripped out of there many mouths.
Two chimeras charged each one of them. Ziona immediately, caused ice to surround her body like armor. Sunbeam dove out of the way as a few of the chimeras tried to jump him and they crashed into a tree behind them. Lily put her hand onto the ground and caused the grass to lengthen into sharp points and to kill the two of the chimeras by slicing their throats. Ziona used her shimo attack again and caused ice to pierce the hearts of the other two beasts. The hag laughed, “You do realize that every beast you kill becomes double right?” Sunbeam becoming enraged said to Lily and Ziona, “Get back!” The chimeras began to errupt out of the ground and this time there were a dozen of them. Lily put her hands to the ground and caused many trees to bar the chimera’s path. The hag began to levitate and she flew in the air above them laughing saying, “You are so foolish. You will by no means win, maybe if you surrender Lily, I will spare you and you can be my apprentice.” Lily’s response was to open her mouth and fire seeds at the Hag. Ziona laughed, “Those weaklings won’t side with you, and I have news for you, your too weak to side with me either.” The hag scowled, “Very well, I will watch you three die and enjoy it!”
The beasts charged and just as they got close the grass eruped from beneath them and skewered them. Lily took her hand off the grass and said, “Ziona, Sunbeam kill her if you can, I will handle the ground.” Ziona laughed, “My brother is useless, I on the other hand will kill her.”
Sunbeam replied, “Be quiet Ziona, let’s just kill the hag.”
The hag was above them one hundred feet and said, “You both are powerless before me!”
Ziona gave a scornful laugh, “Aren’t you arrogant… Shimo!”
The hag watched amused as the jet of blue light Ziona fired at her was neutralized. Ziona saw this and was for once speechless. The hag laughed, “I can block any of your attacks.”
The hag’s veins suddenly popped on her head and suddenly her face began to crack revealing lots of red eyes all over her body each with scars all over them.
Sunbeam looked at Ziona and said, “Truce?” Ziona scowled but said, “Fine...”
Ziona suddenly flew into the air shocking the hag, Sunbeam and Lily. Sunbeam however had no time to be shocked so he grabbed Lily and said, “Run, I am going to make it much hotter here. Lily cried out, “Wait!” Sunbeam’s body however began to emit fire and Lily ran towards Ziona who grabbed her saying, “See if you can help me with this, or none of us have hope of leaving alive...”
The chimeras ran towards Sunbeam as he began to engulf the forest with his fire. This time they wouldn’t come back because even the blood was burned. Lily had to duck behind Ziona to avoid being burned as well. Ziona however put up a barrier made out of ice which blocked the fire from coming near them.
Lily sighed, “I hate seeing nature destroyed even for good purposes.”
Sunbeam began to absorb all of the fire that had started from his small bit of energy like a vaccum. Lily seeing this said, “If you pierce the barrier, I have an idea.” Ziona knew what she meant without looking. This however was to no avail, the witch’s eyes looked at them and suddenly they began to fall to the ground, unable to move.
Sunbeam who had absorbed the fire noticed that the forest had become completely desolate. Lily sighed, “please don’t do that again.” Sunbeam attempted to fly, but he didn’t have enough strength to maintain it for long he realized. Thus he made the descision to head towards the Hag’s direction and his body surrounded itself with fire. The hag sneered for she was ready to anticipate his moves. This however changed to horror as the hag saw his speed of acceleration and the hag shouted, “Stop! You will kill us both!”
Sunbeam got near the barrier being surrounded by intense heat and that alone shattered it. The hag’s eyes locked on to him but she found that his energy was too much to disable. The hag sighed, “Very well, prepare to die you filthy child!”
Sunbeam said nothing and they collided knocking the wind out of both of them.
The hag however recovered almost instantly albeit with only one of her eyes functioning properly.
She sneered, “Good thing I absorbed some of your friends energy when I locked on to them, or I would have died.”
Sunbeam tried to move but he was in great pain.
The hag pulled out three javelins and was about to throw towards all three of them in turn. The hag however suddenly froze as Sunbeam, Lily and Ziona looked on her and a voice said behind her, “You had your chance. Goodbye!”
A spectre-like creature looked down on them saying, “The hag may have failed to do you in, but I shall succeed.”
Ziona slowly got up and said, “Bring it then.”
Sunbeam and Lily however were in too much pain to move.
The creature however replied, “Ziona, why don’t you join me, I will make you into queen of the world!”
Ziona scratched her chin but said, “nah, I can do that without the help of a deranged ugly speck like you.”
“you do know who you are, speaking to yes?”
Ziona scowled, “What does it matter?”
“Very well, watch your friends… Die then!”
The creature sent a jet of dark lightning at both Sunbeam and Lily. The creature watched however as his energy was neutralized and upon seeing this, he gasped for he also saw Vamura. Thus he vanished saying, “Next time then…”
Vamura smiled at them saying, “Don’t worry, its all right, Zament is gone.”
He also added, “This test was not my intention, but yes, you may come to my palace now.”
Ziona said, “That was Zament? What an ugly abomination”
Vamura stared at Ziona saying, “He had interest in you, Ziona… You had best change that negative attitude or else it will be your doom later!”
Ziona shrugged but Vamura vanished in a puff of blue smoke then appeared right next to her and stared into her eyes very closely saying, “You still don’t get it… I will not train someone this foolish. Not now, not ever!”
Ziona enraged said, “So… You want to fight Vamura do you! Take your best shot!”
Sunbeam seeing the danger replied, “Vamura she is always like this, don’t take her so seriously.”
Vamura looked away from Ziona and moved so fast that Sunbeam watched what seemed like in slow motion, Vamura pulled his sword out to strike Sunbeam and then passed by him. Sunbeam noticed he felt no pain and wasn’t hurt. Vamura replied, “You may wish to move Sunbeam… and by the way that was your warning.” Lily grabbed Sunbeam and pulled him away from where Vamura had struck and a huge deep crevice appeared where Vamura had cut. Sunbeam looked at Vamura and asked, “what was that for?”
Vamura leaped towards Sunbeam and sighed, “I am giving you my warning, be careful there are more enemies out in this world then you think, and you three are candidates for great power that can be used for either Good or Evil… It is your choice… you are being watched just like many others. There are one thousand possible canadidates but out of them, only some will live.” Sunbeam asked, “How do you know this?”
Vamura sighed, “I guess I should tell you what I know of your parents. Since they ultimately have some importance in this. Only a tiny fraction of all humans have this bloodline active… but your mother Sunbeam has Jovaxian blood in her veins. It isn’t as active as I would like, but there is enough that you two may have great potential due to this. Your father however suffers from the Zakumian bloodline that has cursed his life more than you can imagine. He has only managed to tame it partially and its a miracle he found someone who loved him through his struggles. You are too young to know which bloodline is stronger within you.”
Then Vamura sat down and said, “Very well I shall tell you more of your family, and Lily, you may be surprised to learn this, but your parents have similar issues to this. Neither the curse of evil or the Jovaxian blessing have appeared since your great grandparents.
Let us all sit down and I will tell you of your ancestors,
“First you should know, Sunbeam and Ziona your father Skull’s parents tried to kill him one day, but upon discovering his power, he discovered a terrifying ability which activated just as he closed his eyes thinking he was dead. When he opened them, even the house was gone as if destroyed by magic. Skull was so horrified by this that he ran far away and decided to find answers to what happened. Thus he met the evil Mirage who would train him at a very costly price. When he became eighteen he married your mother, Moonlight. But, because of a foolish vow, he could have lost his entire family. Your mother however, was merciful to your father in spite of his foolishness of promising his first born in exchange for learning to control his power. You do realize that, there are three other children in your family right? One is likely dead by now, one has gone rogue and the other’s destiny is very unclear to me. You do know I can see the future events right?”
Sunbeam and Lily marveled at what Vamura spoke. Vamura touched all three of their heads and images flooded through their minds of the past events. Sunbeam was shaking a minute later for he saw things he wish he had never seen. Lily sighed, “That’s just like how I was treated before I left on my journey here...” Even Ziona was horrified and said, “My father endured that? How dare those freaks of nature treat my father like that. Serves them right that they were killed by him.”
Sunbeam sighed, “My grandparents on my father’s side were terrible...”
Lily wept and said, “I thought I was alone in this world…”
She grabbed Sunbeam holding him in place weeping over what Sunbeam’s father must have endured.
Sunbeam felt multiple emotions at this moment, happiness and sorrow for Lily was hugging him, but also the pain of his father made him sad and angry.
Vamura sighed, “now you know… and Moonlight’s parents were not kind either. They wanted to keep her away from Skull and even threatened to kill Skull so many times that she ran away with Skull to marry him. But, the parents unfourtantely were killed later and three children swore to get even with your parents even though it wasn’t their fault. Their names are Zaku, Zamu and Zaru. Stay far away from them! But you should know, there is a form of revival in this world that takes place that costs many human lives to revive any soul that has recently died, there are major implications to this revival… But also three issues, one it costs a lot of innocent lives, two unlike the other forms of revival from the dead, they can actually kill you but three, you need certain abilities to make it happen, including the victims that are sacrificed…
Then Vamura added, “My main point is that your parents have been through hell to stay together and even before they met. I only pray that none of you will learn their horrors...”
Lily had a shocked look on her face and sighed, “Wow...”
Sunbeam replied, “So your saying our first two fights they couldn’t have killed us?”
Vamura nodded saying, “yes, but if you had you would have been returned to the last location you were before you entered my domain.”
Ziona shook with rage however from Vamura’s earlier comment about the suffering of her parents saying, “If I ever see them I will kill them!”
Vamura smiled, “Thank you for giving me some hope for your soul Ziona, but they have had thirty plus years more than you to become vicious murderers. They will be hard to bring down, even for your parents and by the way, they have tried many times, but some powerful invidiuals keeps sacrificing human lives to revive them. I don’t know why, but it can’t be for any good reason...”
Sunbeam looked at Vamura and said, “please train all three of us.”
Vamura was about to say no, but then he sighed contemplating this and thought out loud, “I guess it cannot be helped, but remember, the people you know, may not be who think you know either now or later.”
Lily recalled this and said, “Is this a prophecy?”
Vamura nodded and said, “Yes I am glad to see you remembered what I told you.”
Meanwhile in an unknown cave a select few individuals of great power met and they bowed before one of them whose eyes were clear as glass
“The moment you have waited for the master has arrived...”
“Master!” They bowed before their master. “Enough… We need to collect as many of the invidiuals and human lives as possible. We will achieve our goal! But first let us see what happens when he attacks them. We must be sure to grow them up a bit but not too much as we don’t wish to be killed by them, now do we!”
A grundgy voice spoke saying, “They are worthless don’t bother.”
Another voice said, “I Want to kill everyone!”
A slimy voice replied, “I think they have potential, you saw what they did to that hag we sent them. Right?”
One of the other members named Shadow replied, “Whatever helps our master succeed is what is important. Long live the Kuro!” Their master smiled and waved his hand to dismiss them before saying, “We will test them for a while… agreed?” The servants nodded before they went away to do what was their job some albeit reluctantly.
Then the creature who was the master arose to meet his human servant, the creature’s eyes were golden and the rest of his body was red with ancient black markings. The creature roared in what appeared to be ancient language and the servant bowed saying, “Yes… I will send our first envoy to determine or next move.” The servant snapped his fingers and a shadowy ball of dark energy appeared. The servant spoke to the dark energy saying, “Tell him to begin his conquest and that he has the agreed upon time to complete within Enxt. Or else...” Then the dark energy mass vanished into Enxt and the master roared with laughter. The servant smiled saying, “This will be amusing won’t it be master!” The master sneered and pointed at him and he said, “Yes, when the time comes he will do what is needed… and the rest is history… The Inferno Kingdom will one day rise again!”
They were in a throne room surrounded by purple flames and in the eye of the flames crows seemed to be flying out of the flames. Each with bloodshot eyes as if they were ready to tear apart anyone who even went near them. One of the largest crows landed on top of the master and rested on his head.
The master sneered, “We shall be victorius, and my plan to rule the world shall come to pass!”
Vamura led them into a huge battlefield and a grotesque creature stood on the opposite side. Sunbeam asked what is that? The creature replied, “I am his assistant, Zeon, nice to meet you. He created me for a purpose, to preserve peace in the world. I must however ask, what is your reason for desiring this strength. Each of you will fight me, this is so we can assess your abilties and figure out how to train you.”
Vamura smiled, “no need Zeon, we know their abilities already.”
Zeon nodded saying, “Yes, but don’t you want me to see whats in their hearts first?”
Vamura contemplated this but said, “I already know what is in their hearts.” Then he turned to three of them and said, “You will be here for a month and then you may do whatever. But I must warn you, this will be literal hell at first. If you are interested I mean...”
Sunbeam thought about everything that had transpired and about Moonlight’s brothers and said, “I am ready.” Lily also nodded with resolve and Ziona saw that they had changed, their faces were full of bold strength and ready to commit to this. Ziona smiled slightly saying to herself, “Well this is a surprise… I hope they know this will be far more painful then they realize… Still, it is definitely interesting to me how they have grown… losers or not...”
Thus they began the long training. They followed Vamura into what appeared to be a small cave but when they got to the otherside, there was a huge wide open space of a mountain in front of them. Vamura replied, “You will begin to climb that mountain today. When you get to the top, for an hour at a time for ten hours each day, you will fight me.”
The mountain loomed over them, tall and ominous and Vamura could see them having second thoughts, even Ziona who looked annoyed. Vamura spoke to them saying, “You can always give up, but if you are really as ready as you said you are and want to choose your own fate, you will do this!”
Ziona scoffed annoyed but was the first to climb, Sunbeam and Lily nodded at each other and also began to climb. They briefly rested in between despite the pain their bodies endured each day, they made it to the top.
Ziona watched Lily and Sunbeam pass out but spat as if to mock their sudden weakness.
Vamura replied, “Get up if you want to live!”
Lily and Sunbeam struggled to get up and Vamura replied, “Do you want to get stronger or not!”
They replied, “YES!”
Vamura smiled, “Then touch my hand and lets begin the battle.”
Sunbeam and Lily struggled with all their might and grabbed Vamura’s hand. They slowly struggled to stand but then much to their surprise they felt immense energy filling their bodies a moment later as they stood.
Ziona shrugged, “Weaklings...”
Vamura replied, “Ziona… come here.”
Ziona did as she was told and felt herself fill with tremendous amount of energy the moment she touched his hand. Vamura became thoughtful and said, “I also neglected to tell you this, but two other men came here before you Ziona and Sunbeam from your family.”
“Skull was here? But who else?”
Vamura smiled, “No, not just him, but both of your brothers.”
Sunbeam sighed for he remembered one of them had become evil and the other’s fate was uncertain...”
Ziona shrugged, “Who are they?”
Vamura however ignored this question for the moment and shouted, “Okay… I am sorry to do this, but we must begin quickly! You are practically near the sky you are so high up, this will increase your strength in much the same as it would for a month in ordinary ways in ten years in your normal dimension. This is known as Hell Mountain for the reason that people put themselves through hell when they train here...”
Vamura made a staff appear out of nowhere with his own energy and said, “This you will learn if you can survive a month of me training you. But for now, use these three swords and bring it on! However you must not use your abilities if this is to be its most effective.
Three swords appeared out of nowhere right besides them and Vamura said, “When I point my finger at you three, fight me and prepare for the fight of your life, as I will actively be trying to kill you.”
Ziona watched as Vamura pointed his finger at them and suddenly she said, “DUCK!”
They all dove out of the way as a jet of blue light passed by them hitting the cave entrance thus causing it to decay before their eyes. Vamura replied, “This is to show you I mean what I say!”
They knew then this was going to be even more hellish then they thought.
Ziona surrounded herself with ice, Sunbeam with fire and Lily’s entire body became like wood.
Ziona drew her sword and sent a jet of ice at Vamura who merely looked at the ice causing it to melt.
Ziona was in awe and Vamura replied, “Sorry, but I said, you may not use your abilities.”
Vamura looked at each of them in turn causing their abilities to be completely disabled.
Sunbeam shocked asked, “How then do we...”
Vamura however charged them and they each surrounded him from a different direction and slashed at a different part of him.
Vamura leaped as they got close and the three of themselves almost killed each other. Vamura then jumped on the swords saying, “Give it your best shot. This isn’t going to help.”
Vamura slammed his fist into each of them in turn and each of them felt like they had been punched by a brick wall.
Each day was a constant struggled for the next two weeks. Though they didn’t see this, they were becoming stronger, faster and more durable because of all that had happened.
The third week they were told to function on only a few hours of sleep. They struggled again like the first week, but finally when all was said and done, after learning some of the tricks that Vamura was using. Vamura finally said, “one more test but your time is short for this one... and what not he said, “You must use your abilties for this…”
Vamura snapped his fingers and their abilities returned to them and he said, “In order to make an energy weapon, you must look deep into your heart and put your hands near your heart and without fear, look at death in this face. Which you have done already many times during our training. Sunbeam looked back and remembered how in the middle of the training all three of them were close to death but somehow managed to get up and said, “Where did we find the strength during the middle of the training to get up anyhow? You must have given us that strength right?”
Ziona laughed, “he probably is a softie and...”
Vamura slapped Ziona and said, “Enough...”
Ziona cringed in fear at this which was uncanny for her.
Then he turned to face all of them and said, “No, your inner strength has always existed, and that came out when you were close to death… Try to get in the mindset of how you felt then and you can create permanent energy weapons. These weapons can hide whenever you want them to within you, but also be summoned when you need them most. Many evil forces have these weapons, so you will need them too...”
Ziona still aggravated by the slap scowled and folded her arms in irritation.
Then they began to do as he said and found that when they tried, they achieved nothing whatsoever.
Vamura shouted, “You must focus for this to work! Now try again! Remember the despair you have felt before we even trained? Regarding some of those other opponents? Also remember how that hag angered you so Sunbeam… it is your best hope.”
Sunbeam slowly after trying for what felt like a few days, found himself summoning a flaming sword which took a physical and energy form all in one. Lily realized how Sunbeam accomplished this fairly quickly and created something similar to her whip. Ziona struggled and struggled but finally she created an icy form of what looked like a chain. Then Vamura told them to stop saying, “good you have accomplished your goal, but rest or you will die...” Ziona laughed, “I am fine...” But she slowly found that she was having trouble keeping her eyes open and she slowly passed out despite her talk. Vamura seeing this nodded his head saying to his assistant, “Heal them and then we will send them back home.”
The next day the three of them awoke outside the mountain and a voice said, “Your time will come soon where you will need these abilities. Be ready… and beware of Nightmare. If he detects you here, he will stop at nothing to drain your energy.”
Sunbeam and Lily staggered slightly and headed home.
Ziona shrugged, “well that was… interesting… hmmph, at least you guys aren’t as weak as you started. Maybe someday you will be worth something.”
Lily spoke to Sunbeam saying, “I think she might actually be giving us a compliment in her rude way.”
Ziona ignored this and went ahead of them home for she was in better shape then them.
Sunbeam shook his head, “don’t know, but she still is a hot head.”
Lily laughed, “you are one too you know.”
Sunbeam objected but Lily just giggled saying, “Relax your nowhere near as much as her.”
Sunbeam asked, “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Lily immediately felt nervous and flushed red at the same time unable to answer.
Sunbeam and Lily stared at each other and the bruises on them as they walked home both red in the face, before returning home. She waved smiling slightly before they headed to their homes.
Vamura sighed as he saw them from a distance flying above them ten thousand feet.
He thought to himself, “Well, may the power of the Jovaxian be with you. It was nice meeting you all…” Then he thought, “I couldn’t teach you anything more yet… but this is only the beginning of your journey. Let us see what your future holds… remember your fate is something you choose by your actions in this world… I hope your ultimate fate will be kind to you. Though I wonder...”
Sparkwave, sat at the table with many of his guests eating, he stroked his furry mane. “So Sparkwave your majesty how are you faring?”
Zir asked bowing low before his king. Sparkwave gave a chuckle saying, “No need to be so formal, Especially considering you have defended me in so many awful situations.”
Zir raised his head to look at Sparkwave, his eyes and whiskers were the only thing visible behind a strange mask. Sparkwave nodded, “Why don’t you take that mask off. I want to see your face more often.”
Zir chuckled back saying, “Yes well… I rather enjoy things this way. Nonetheless at your pleasure I will take it off.”
Chrotorspark his son entered the room saying, “Father I am here as you requested, anything you would like from me?”
Sparkwave laughed gently saying, “Just wanted to tell you, I love you and that you are wanted downstairs.”
Chortorspark smiled saying the same before disappearing downstairs.
Zir’s face was both handsome and bold. He was extremely fierce looking with his expression but also, gentle and loving on the inside as Sparkwave well knew.
Sparkwave laughed, “So how is your wife. I hope you are enjoying her company. She seemed to be weary of things yesterday.”
Zir replied, “Yes she doesn’t like me going to battle for fear that I may die. But rest assured, We are well matched.”
Sparkwave gave a knowing smile but sighed, “I only wish my beloved hadn’t been killed by that bloodluster, Dragmon those years ago.”
Zir nodded, “Fear not, the time for retribution.”
A haggered old man wearing a many starred uniform entered the room. He whispered something in Sparkwave’s ear and Sparkwave murmured in agreement.
Zir heard the words, “We should begin the toast.”
Sparkwave spoke, “You are all the best of the best. You are all bold warriors, a toast to your continued undying loyalty to your King and your generals, General Zir, General Z, General L!”
Then everyone raised their goblets and General L said, “to Sparkwave! and his glorius kingdom!”
Everyone lifted their glasses and hailed their King before drinking the fermented green tea.
When they finished their drinks and food, a young boy with shiny curious blue eyes strode up to Sparkwave and said, “I just want you to know, I want to be just like you when I grow up. You are full of strength and wisdom!”
Sparkwave smiled at the boy, and said, “What is your name child?” The boy spoke firmly, “I am called Raven your majesty.” General L got up curtly and said, “Run along now, this isn’t the place for you.”
Sparkwave watched the boy until he disappeared in the crowded room. Sparkwave looked exasperated, “Why did you do that persay?”
General L shrugged, “I don’t like children. And that one is especially repellant for some reason.” Sparkwave sighed, “You disappoint me, a man of honor is more respectful. I sense power in the boy.”
General L stiffened up and said, “I AM VERY HONORABLE!”
Sparkwave sighed as General L began to go into a long rant about his honor.
Zir shook his head, “Why do you have him as a general?”
Sparkwave laughed, “Because he is an excellent leader.”
General Z a man of few words, announced saying, “There is a traitor in our midst.”
Sparkwave rose quickly and said, “THAT IS BRAZEN TO SAY! GENERAL Z!”
General Z said, “I have noticed some odd cirumstances. Which you may wish to know.”
“Talk to me in private then!”
General Z nodded saying, “Fair enough, I just wanted to warn you.”
Zir shrugged, “General Z hardly ever talks, I don’t really get why he suddenly spoke up.
Sparkwave waved his hand as if to say, “no more of this.”
Then suddenly an alarm went off, everyone got to their feet and found that the kid who praised Sparkwave was running in terror. A huge monster of a man was chasing him.
Zir put his hand in front of those who were racing to aid him.
Zir replied, “I will handle this.”
“You will handle NOTHING I smash!”
The monster roared and suddenly wings sprouted out of his body and a tail as well as bones appearing all over his body.
Zir sneered at him saying, “just like old times huh Zigzam. You should stop trying, I have killed you already one hundred times even if you are getting a little bit stronger each time. At this rate, it will take you ten thousand years to be of any threat.”
Zigzam suddenly let loose a blast of crimson energy from his mouth. The crimson energy spiraled towards Zir who put his hand out and blocked it without any problem thus neutralizing it.
Zigzam growled and ran towards Zir shouting, “I will kill!”
Zir drew his sword so fast that a ripple of wind combined with his attack and he slashed Zigzam’s head off causing him to vaporize before them.
Zir shook his head, “When will that ogre learn that I am too strong.
Sparkwave asked, “Your name is Raven right?”
Raven nodded slowly tears appearing his eyes and he said, “Yes, I was going to head home but… but...”
Sparkwave sighed, “Stay with us, at least for the night till we can get you back safely.”
As night began to fall, General Z approached Sparkwave on the tower at the top of castle.
Sparkwave asked, “Okay, what is this about! You could have caused major issues with that BRAZEN comment!”
General Z shook his head, “I know you may not know this, but I keep silent for good reason most of the time. General L doesn’t realize this, but he is a traitor.”
Sparkwave growled, “What do you mean by that?”
General Z whispered, “What you are about to see must be kept secret. I will show you my reason for joining you and tell you everything I know. We must keep our voices low to prevent us being recorded.”
Sparkwave watched as General Z took off his mask for a moment just in time for Sparkwave to see his eyes. But it was too dark to see what color they were.
Sparkwave became speechless as General Z flooded his mind with many thoughts, including his ultimate goal.
Sparkwave suddenly sighed, “What you seek, is impossible.”
General Z replied, “it may be, but I must try, don’t interfere though. My intentions as you can guess are pure.”
Sparkwave asked, “Do you really think you will get away with this? Or that I will go along with your plan?”
General Z whispered, “Not now no. But I want one bit of information and I will let you go your way without any damage.”
Sparkwave replied, “What is that?”
General Z asked, “What is the red stone in the vision I showed you with the skull on it. And what is the red sword in the middle of that temple which is protected my many layers of diamond coated carbon steel?”
Sparkwave sighed, “I wish you hadn’t asked this, but oh well. I know full well you can kill me if you so desire, nonetheless, you weren’t talking about yourself as the traitor were you? There is someone else you seek. Why?”
General Z responded curtly, “Nevermind that for now, what is that stone and sword?”
Sparkwave whispered, “I really shouldn’t tell you, but the sword is like a key, but to get to that key you need six other keys and the stone.”
General Z whispered, “So that is what I am supposed to steal?”
Sparkwave was perplexed, asking, “Do you not realize the danger? Our world would become dust in the wind if that power is released..”
General Z, more to himself than Sparkwave, murmured, “More like everything in the universe and beyond. Although, I wonder...”
Sparkwave saw General Z was momentarily distracted and pressed a switch to sound the alarm.
But just as he did, General Z quickly snapped his fingers causing the entire building to go black.
Sparkwave cringed at this and General Z heard footsteps but replied, “I will let you live, as promised, but with one noteable exception. You will forget who told you this due to my Zeon chemical. Anyone else, however, who finds out will forget just like you.”
General Z suddenly pushed Sparkwave to the ground and put a tube of Zeon on him. This was a chemical for wiping people’s minds of the previous twenty four hours. General Z, unbeknownst to anyone else, could produce this without trouble for reasons that he chose to hide even from his closest allies.
Sparkwave before falling to the ground unconscious managed to wheeze out, “You won’t… get away with this...”
General Z became invisible as Sparkwave’s attendants rushed into the hallway. General Zir was the first to enter and see Sparkwave collapsed on the floor.
He stopped the others saying, “Put on gas masks before you enter the room. It is too late for me, but you will be protected from the gas I smell.” General L and everyone else put the masks on and watched as General Zir replied, “What is everyone looking at me for?” General L replied, “Don’t you remember?”
General L bent to feel Sparkwave’s pulse and just as the medical staff entered, wearing gas masks, The lead doctor recognized the smell of zeon and immediately knew that Sparkwave’s and General Zir’s memories had been erased.”
Chrotorspark who had been informed of the attack, came in wearing a gas mask to see if his father was okay.
He asked, “What is going on here? Why did someone attack my father and not kill him? That isn’t like our enemies at all… What were they after...”
General Zir, “Sparkwave must be accompanied by medical staff and watched in his room till he is back to full strength.” The lead doctor predicted in a few days, he would be fine. However Sparkwave was the only person in the castle who was sleeping peacefully. Everyone else was waiting anxiously for another attack.
General Zir stood watch and just at daybreak, saw what he had been looking for, what he knew was an approaching attack. Tall shadows in the far distance moved slowly, steadily, walking towards the castle.
Zir thought, “Nightmare… What were you up to? This isn’t your style...”
Sparkwave woke up hours later and held a meeting where he said, “I have no choice because I know there is a traitor here. General L and General Zir, keep a close watch for the traitor is still in our midst. Also, I must tell you what I have heard, although I don’t remember who told me. Puzzling this is...”
Sparkwave’s son entered the room and asked, “Father you need your sleep. Isn’t it kind of late?”
“Chrotorspark, I appreciate you caring about me, but this is not the time. An attempt was made on my life.”
Chrotorspark sighed and General L replied, “I will lead him back to his room. There is no need to worry Chortorspark.”
Sparkwave heard footsteps and a guard entered saying, “Those shadows are coming in droves now. There were only four before, but they are now many, they are moving very slowly.”
Sparkwave shook his head, “Not yet wait until they are within firing range. Prepare the strike force and when enough people are in position, then open fire.”
The guard replied, “Yes your majesty,”
Sparkwave got up from his chair slowly and General L asked, “How long do you think it will be before the shadows are in range?”
Sparkwave replied, “Even if Zir can see them with his naked eye, they are probably far off, still it is better to be safe then sorry.”
General L sighed, “is this meeting over then because we should do something soon and...” Sparkwave cut him short saying, “Please don’t ramble again. Yes this meeting is ajourned.”
General L asked, “How did you know I was going to rant incoherently?”
Sparkwave sighed again, “You always do that when you want to make a point. You need to not do that. Have I not commanded you to stop many times? Nevertheless, you are a good soldier.”
Zir replied, “I expect they will be in range by daylight. We will be ready for them.”
General L bowed low and the meeting was over as they headed to their respective posts.
Zir followed Sparkwave who asked, “You may be needed my loyal Zir.”
Zir replied, “No, I sensed an evil presence nearby moments ago, I hope I am wrong though.” Sparkwave said, “Then who is it?”
Zir shook his head no saying, “You won’t believe me if I told you. I would be offending you.”
Sparkwave commanded him to tell him who saying, “Regardless, who is it?”
Zir responded saying, “Your son your majesty, I fear something is wrong with or within him.”
Sparkwave grew angry but then a thought occurred to him, “You sure?”
Zir nodded sadly and Sparkwave laughed saying, “You must be imagining things.” But secretly, Sparkwave thought otherwise and was putting on a calm facade. He was beginning to suspect that Chrotorspark indeed was listening somewhere nearby.
Zir picked up on this and shrugged saying. “I hope you are right.”
Just as daylight broke, the shadows all in one moment engulfed the castle.
A guard suddenly was grabbed by the shadow before he could move a muscle and he instantly turned to dust. Then suddenly out of the dust arose a new shadow.
General L shouted, “Do not let them touch you! Put on your body shields! Man your stations and vaporize all shadows! Those shadows will not last long! ALL staff be in your rooms and remain! The doors are shielded hopefully the shadows cannot penetrate them!”
General L turned to Sparkwave and said, “My King go to the observation tower Aand take no one with you! I will meet you as soon as possible! We will defeat the shadows quickly!”
The shadows swarmed all over the castle. Sparkwave knew he was protected in his body shield but nonetheless moved quickly towards the observation tower.
Nightmare stood behind four huge shadows and said, “Time to send the troops through muhahahaha!”
A familiar laugh slowed his steps… it was Nightmare. Nightmare continued laughing as he, commanded the four largest shadows to open their inner portals releasing, three of the warlords of seven. Each warlord entered the war zone with his own army. Zanmal called out, “I am only interested in defeating general Zir! Nightmare they are at your disposal
Nightmare replied, “Yes sure, I look forward to you bringing back their heads!” The other two warlords nodded in agreement, Dragmon and Crystalton each who had their eyes set on stronger opponents.
General L gave the order and the generals and their armies entered into battle.
Zanmal sneered, “This won’t take long.” He was a very short wretched old creature and held a one foot sheathed sword in his hand. Zir laughed, “I won’t last long? You won’t!”
They drew their swords and slashed. Zanmal’s sword suddenly extended narrowly knocking Zir to the ground. Zir dropped his sword due to the intensity of his last attack and said, “Very well, you will need to be dealt with differently.”
Zanmal let his sword strike at Zir this time extending it ten feet before it shortened back to being one foot. Zir barely dodged, and then flicked both his thumbs causing huge slashes to appear on Zanmal’s arms.
Zanmal winced saying, “So you dabble in witchcraft too.”
“No, that would be against our laws. That is my ability. That’s all it is.”
Zanmal dropped his sword as well and said, “Then this… IS FOR YOU!”
Zanmal opened his mouth and screamed sending a ripple effect of sound which struck Zir causing him to lose control of his balance and his hearing.
General Z who was fighting Crystalton and Dragmon suddenly vanished and gave a quick punch into Zanmal’s mouth. Zanmal felt his head bend backward and he groaned as he fell to the ground skidding against the dirt.
Zanmal cursed and spat as this happened.
A shadow opened beneath Zanmal and he vanished into the shadow.
Crystalton spat saying, “Zanmal you weakling… Well it doesn’t matter they cannot stop all of us!
Crystalton slashed at Zir who blocked using his wind ability as a shield. Crystalton sneered saying, “you won’t be able to block this much longer.”
Zir flicked his fingers sending a compressed wind like bullet straight at Crystalton who fell to the ground momentarily. This however did nothing to dampen Crystalton’s delight for he got up very quickly with barely a scratch.
General Z moved like lightning drew his sword appearing to make a cut in Crystalton’s built in armor.
Crystalton winced saying, “That was very lucky. You won’t get that opportunity again.”
Crystalton suddenly teleported behind General Z and slashed at his throat. General Z however was ready and parried each of his swords one after another till he had one left.
Crystalton prepared to drive the sword into General Z. He however knocked that one and with a quick flick of his hand put his sword back in his sheath. Then he turned and faced Nightmare and the shadows.
Crystalton shouted, “YOU LITTLE!”but began to cough up blood as he said this for he had been slashed through his chest.
Nightmare suddenly caused a shadow to appear below Crystalton who immediatelly disappeared.
General Z asked, “ Nightmare is that the best you got?”
“Silence! How in the hell did you break his defense!”
General Z said nothing but looked at Nightmare’s cold dark eyes not even flinching.
Nightmare noticed this and wondered how he wasn’t frightened. Then Nightmare gave a nasty look saying, “You won’t be here much longer though.”
The soldiers of Nightmare pulled out their weapons and began to open fire.
Sparkwave noticed that their rifles shot plasma beams as well as bullets.
The conflict escalated as bodies on both sides were vaporizing and slashing each other apart one by one.
Sparkwave saw Nightmare give a signal and his remaining soldiers began to retreat…
Then Nightmare called out, “You will see us no more soon enough!”
Nightmare grabbed Zir and threw him towards the portal, but much to his surprise, Zir resisted with his wind current to prevent himself from going anywhere. General Z opened his hand threw an orb in between the portals, Nightmare growled, “You will pay for this!”
The huge shadows began to vaporize and Nightmare cursed, “I will return!”
Nightmare was blocked from entering the portal for it vaporized completely.
General Z pulled his sword out and put it back in after slashing in one moment. Nightmare’s eyes had been gouged temporarily. Then Nightmare or as General Z called him, Nightmare’s clone vaporized within moments. “the battle is over for now, but I will return.”
General Zir said, “We will be waiting Nightmare.”
General L replied to Sparkwave, “The battle is over, but I have this strange feeling that someone is still lurking around. Even though our radar detects no one nearby.
Sparkwave shrugged, “Then don’t worry about it, you must be imagining things.”
General L however could tell this was a facade.
Zir looked at General Z and asked, “How did you do all of that? Crystalton’s body is made of an extremely hard mineral, how are you able to cut him. And what was that, you threw to blow up the portal. And Nightmare usually is impentrable to physical attacks.”
General Z was silent and forced his sword back down his throat as casually as if it were second nature.
Sparkwave exaspperated replied, “Must you do that General Z?”
They looked around and saw the dead bodies and General Z pretending not to hear him. He sighed, “War truly is terrible, I long for the day when it will all be at an end. It would seem our enemies have all died or retreated for now...”
Sparkwave asked, “Seriously General Z how did you do this? You have never even come close to this level of strength. Also, you are bleeding in so many different places.”
General Z shrugged and said, “I was assessing his strength. Just like I do with everyone else.”
Sparkwave thought about it before chuckling to Zir, “Nightmare seems to have competition...” General General Z whispered, "I have killed two of them now, there are no doubt more.”
Sparkwave asked, “explain.”
General Z replied, “The Nightmare you saw was a clone. You didn’t really think he would be that easy to fight do you?”
Zir perplexed asked, “Wait, why do you not teach anyone else to fight like yourself.” General Z pulled of his upper armor revealing his battle scarred body. No one could even look at the wounds for it made them sick.
General Z explained, “I can teach no one, the skill of suffering.”
Zir asked, “Maybe we can heal them.”
General Z replied, “Nope, it is much more complicated then you realize.” He gave a raspy laugh after this which unnerved Sparkwave and the generals. General Z went back into the castle saying, “I will be in touch when you need me.”
Sparkwave spoke to General L and said, “I have this terrible feeling about him.”
General L nodded, “I am suspicious as well... although he has defended you.”
Sparkwave winced saying, “Yes… I am only alive thanks to him and you. but still, something doesn’t make sense. I am getting this bad feeling. I don’t get it though, why did he save me if this feeling is true.” General L replied, “Feelings don’t tell the whole story, nevertheless, we will have to keep an eye on him.”
Nightmare sitting on his throne felt the ground beneath him shake and he immediately stopped being solid.
Nightmare was forced in to solid form and he was thrown in another dimension surrounded by an immense amount of energy and he shivered and burned at the same time...
Nightmare called out, “Who are you! Answer me NOW!”
The voice said nothing back and Nightmare woke up scarred by both heat and cold on his right arm.
When he looked up, Psion replied, “Master are you okay? How did you become solid?”
Nightmare got up coughing up protoplasm saying, “Nevermind that!”
Psion stared into his master’s eyes saying, “That dream, was it from...”
Nighmare interrupted saying, “Silence!” He sent a jet of dark energy at Psion who barely dodged to avoid being struck. Psion replied, “Master please, I only wish to help you find the root of your problem.”
Nightmare barked back, “I have no problem! Now bow before me or I will eat your soul in judgment of your insolence!”
Psion sighed, “Very well your majesty, I am sorry if I offended you.”
Nightmare watched him bow and his anger cooled off and he said, “Have you prepared more clones? Including the super clone in case...”
Psion smiled, “Yes your lordship.”
Nightmare became smug saying, “Excellent, now stand up and let us see your work.”
Psion laughed, “Here...”
Then Psion threw an orb and out of errupted a smaller version of Nightmare.
Nightmare shook his head, “What’s different, I see no difference?”
Psion replied, “He has the DNA of many different types of humans and other creatures all rolled into one. The power he has is limitless and he is obedient to you just as you have asked.”
Nightmare became curious saying, “and what is to stop him from trying to kill me?”
Psion shrugged, “You can cause him to sleep for an indefinite period by saying the passphrase which I will now enter into your mind via my psychic telepathy.”
Nightmare growled, “I see… does he have your abilities?”
Psion nodded saying, “Most of them...” Nightmare sneered, “Then your usefulness is...”
Psion laughed interrupting him saying, “Not so fast, you still don’t get it. Allow me to show you something you need that only I have.”
Nightmare cackled, “What would that be?” Psion pointed his finger at the wall and he showed Sparkwave and what he was currently doing. Nightmare shrugged, “So what...”
Nightmare threw a bolt of a lightning at Psion who teleported outside the Castle. Nightmare was about to kill him but Psion replied, “Wouldn’t you rather me die doing you a favor rather than doing nothing.”
Nightmare thought about it and said, “How can I be sure you won’t do something against me if I let you go.”
Psion replied, “You have the mark of Nimora on me, you know what to do if that happens. Besides, I would like to cause some havoc before I die.”
Nightmare knew Psion was planning something but he also knew Psion was too weak to do much damage. Thus Psion was surprised to hear Nightmare say, “Very well, I don’t really trust you, but you could be useful after all… your mission, is to kidnap Zir’s wife!”
Psion smiled, “Will do and when I do what do you want me to do with her?”
Nightmare snarled, “Execute her...”
but then Nightmare stopped in mid sentence saying, “Actually use her to lure Zir to his doom then kill them both.”
Psion nodded, “I wish to enlist Zanmal’s help for this so I know for sure Zir’s death will be here.”
Nightmare growled, “Enough, what could you possibly do with Zanmal that you couldn’t do alone?”
Psion gave a wicked look saying, “I think we both know my abilties combined with him...”
Nightmare smiled, “Very well…”
Then Nightmare called out, “Zanmal!”
Zanmal who had overheard the conversation replied, “Please tell me you aren’t actually...”
Nightmare glared at Zanmal saying, “If he fails in his plan and you both live, you may kill him.”
Psion laughed, “This will succeed I promise you that. I may not be a member of your clan of 7, but I know what I am doing.”
Zanmal and Psion departed however Nightmare spoke into Zanmal’s mind saying, “Watch him carefully as you see him fight, if he looks like he is in league with...”
Zanmal replied telepathically, “I know… I will take care of this...”
Then Nightmare suddenly called out, “I detected something nearby the Cave of Zament… I want you to check Forest… and make sure you test our guests thoroughly, if they are as strong as I think, capture them alive!”
