FCC repeals ’net neutrality
Wellington, New Zealand,
What a shame the US FCC, made up of unelected bureaucrats, has voted to get rid of ’net neutrality. The down side: their country’s ISPs can determine what websites you get to see, and make you wait for those they don’t agree with or have some special arrangement with. It’s bad news for independent voices and I believe it’ll stifle innovation. Some of us try to sell products and services into the US—the idea that we might not face a level playing field goes against the whole idea of the internet for me. I hope my fears are ultimately unfounded.
